Likes: I was looking for a ball to essentially replace my aging Brunswick Swarm. The Swarm had been my go-to ball when the fronts burned up and I needed something to get really downlane and turn the corner with power. I have had great success with the Swarm and a confidence in the ball that makes it difficult to retire. But the Damage appears to be the perfect replacement and addition to my arsenal. I went with a pretty long pin because I needed length out of the ball on drier lanes. The results have been very uplifting. I get great length and a powerful turn towards the pins. Striking power is not sacrificed with this rock. Took it to a 3-pair, 3-game, 3-condition event yesterday. One pattern was the house shot, one was a Kegel challenge series pattern and the other a PBA Experience pattern. Prior to starting, you do not know what pattern you are on so you have to figure it out with only a few shots of practice. From the first two shots, I knew we were starting on the Sport pattern. The middles were superhooky, and the outside was unplayable. My Alpha Max and my Wicked were too strong by a longshot. I quickly set up in the Damage standing on 35 rolling over 4th arrow and made the pattern look easier than it was. The ball made it through the superhooky zone and turned the corner on the backpart of the lane a hit the pins hard. The manager actually asked me if we were on the house shot after throwing a few strikes with the Damage! When we got to the Challenge Series pattern, the middles weren't hooking as much and I was able to move right with the Damage and continue striking.
I've had this ball drilled to be more condition specific and not my first ball out of the bag. From all indications, it does exactly what it is supposed to do. It gives me a ball that will allow me to finally retire my Swarm and it fits really well in between my Slingshot and Wicked Siege. The ball effortlessly gets downlane, storing energy for the strong move towards the pocket. Really really like this ball!

Dislikes: I'm not sure I have any dislikes with this ball. It does what it's supposed to do. Predictably clean through the fronts and middles and strong on the backend.

I got the Damage for when the lanes break down and I need something that goes further down the lane before making the move to the pocket. I drilled it with a stronger backend since it is a higher RG ball to give it a little help when it reaches the friction. This ball is good on fresh as well and allows me to play straighter even with my higher rev rate. I really like the reaction of this ball when everything else is hooking too much and starting up too early. This ball really makes a strong arc type of move when it reaches the friction but doesn't make a quick turn when reaching the friction. I really like the Damage with the OOB surface and haven't made any adjustments. This ball is clean through the heads, and strong on the backend. This is another great ball in the Advance Performance lineup.

First impression is that people who are not used to seeing a stronger backed reaction from Brunswick will be pleasantly surprised. This is a ball that can ideally be used for lighter conditions or when the lanes have opened up a bit. It can cover quite a few boards on the right condition. For some who consider "weak" equipment as those which do not cover boards, you would be wrong about this. This ball can help open up the lane later on in a set, for example, after using a Wicked Siege. Say after the Wicked Siege starts to be a bit too strong and moving deeper leaves flat corners, you can pick up the Damage in the same area on the lane and get more length and excellent backend recovery.

It may not be ideal for a fresh shot as you may have to deal with over/under if the volume is medium or higher.

The purpose of this ball is to go damn long and have enough backend to carry from deep angles when the lanes get toasty. I wanted something that I could get similar to slightly less length from than my Avalanche slide which is a personal favourite of mine. What happened was that the damage surprised me and actually is as if not longer than the slide, but provides a little extra performance on the backend to take out the 10 when playing deep angles when it is super dry. First tournament out I shot 1040/4 with it in games 10-13 on wood that was absolutely fried.

I'd recommend the damage to anybody encountering a soft, dry surface, especially if they are speed challenged and need help getting the ball down lane. Its a performance bowling ball that is very controllable with tremendous length.

Wow when i first tried the Damage out it was on 2nd shift house pattern. This ball was able to get through the frints with no problem and had a lot of backend left to get the ten oin out form deeper angles. When taken to 1000 abralon this ball rolls earlier but still gets through the fronts fine with it picking up in the mid lane a little sooner than with polish on it.

Brunswick really hit the mark with this one as well as othercurrent bowling balls. Don't miss out on what great products brunswick is coming out with!!

Likes: Lots of strikes and there is a lot of pop in the back with this ball.

I bought the damage, because I'd always wanted to try something with a strong backend on a dry house shot. To take advantage of what this ball was built for, I had it drilled pin above the bridge cg right and a little lower than ring. All I can say is wow. This is the first ball I was unable to bowl a strike with. The ball carried down beautifully making a late and very shallow turn toward the pocket. I was under the impression that it would make a sharp angular turn, but that wasn't the case at all. Then, even when I hit the pocket, the ball hits like a wet noodle leaving the strangest formations I've seen. I tried moving over a couple boards to the right, increasing and decreasing ball speed, adding more hand, but nothing seems to work. My best guess is that this is a ball for crankers, and I'm simply incapable of putting enough revs on it to get the desired results. As it stands this ball has proven itself as an excellent spare ball picking up splits and the occasional 10 pin.

Back End – deceptively strong. Ball saves up it's energy for the backend.
Overall Hook – good. You can play this straight to the pocket or bounce it off the friction.
Midlane Read – great on light to medium. Too much oil and it slides.
Breakpoint Shape – very strong arc

I had the good fortune to bowl with Ronnie Russell at the Pro-Am at Earl Anthony's Dublin Bowl in February 2011. Ronnie is a super nice guy and seeing as he is Brunswick-sponsored he really got a kick out of the Gold Rhino Pro I was throwing.

Some time during the second game he brings this guy over and tells him to check out my ball. He asks me if I am the guy who posted a figjam about my Gold Rhino at BR and I said yes. And then he tells me he's Brunsnick.

So we got to chatting about the old Big B classics and talking about their newer stuff. I told him how I wanted a Gold Rhino ever since I saw his video of the ball on his web site (http://www.brunsnick.com/rhino_gold.html).

A few minutes later he comes back and drops a box on me with a brand new Damage in it! I open the box and he wrote, "It's not a Gold Rhino Pro but it'll still match up" on it. What an unbelievably cool thing that was.

For those of you who liked the Gold Rhino Pro then this ball is for you. It is a great 1-2 punch with the Massive Damage. Between those two balls I can cover anything from light to fresh oil. Both are laid out the same way and give me the same shape, the same strong backend, and surprisingly strong carry. The Damage is all you need for light to medium oil.
