Monster introduces Brunswick's most aggressive Proactive cover stock to the
popular mid-priced category. As a result, the difference in ball reaction between the Monster and other mid-price or entry-level balls is significant. Other particle balls at the mid-price point are subtly different from mid-price reactives. In fact, in the hands of mid-skill
level players the differences are going to be close to zero. Not so with the Monster. Monster will significantly out-hook and roll more evenly than Reactive cover stock balls, providing a valuable tool to attack oily lane conditions and bridge the gap between introductory and high performance products.

Wow. After a year it's time for a review. Have the ball drilled pin under ring finger and cg just right of center of grip (i think it's the really small dot).

I have a 180 average and bowl in a very tuff league where the lanes are not to consistant. I have a deep inside line and through out to the second arrow (i am a righty). This ball got through the heads nicely,had the grip to come back to the pocket when I threw it right of my target, it didn't over react when it hit the back end. The pin action was great for this past friday, had many weak pocket shot, threw right of my target, but the pins had the manner to lay down for me most of the night. Only had on Brooklyn shot for a strike. I left only one ten pin on an almost perfect shot. I ended up throwing my first 700 series ever, 725 and have taken over 3rd for highest series this season.

The ball does seem to cross over when ball speed is down, and it soaks up the oil and dirt very fast(my only gripe). The ball hits like a ton. Love it. I give it a solid 9.

Well first thing i can say about this ball is that it is a great ball for the money. I bought this ball the week it came out to the public, so i've had it a while, i used it pretty steady for about 4 months, i am a versitle bowler, can play down and in or a huge hook and this ball worked well with whatever shot i played. i don't recomend the ball for dry shots though, unless you throw the ball pretty hard. I shot my one and only 300 with this ball. Although i have recently switched to a different ball i still have to recomend this ball for it's hard hitting and above average control. i average about 205 in 3 different leagues, and i still carry this ball with me becase i can play a lot of shots with it. 9/10 rating

This was only the second Brunswick ball I owned and really liked it. The Monster purple rolls hard in the midlane with a nice, controllable arc to the pins with better than average carry. The ball always worked well for me when getting to the pocket was top priority, it is a great go to or tournament ball. If you ever wanted a ball that you always knew where it was going when it left your hand the Monster purple would be just that.

I own three monster series balls, and it all started with this one.
i got this of the shelf in december of 2000. the CG was a little over 3" to the pin. it was drill with pin under and to the left of my ring finger (by the way im left handed).  this ball gives me a very nice and controled hook on the medium and heavy oil condition, and hits harder than a train at 400mph.  in other words, ITS AGGRESIVE.  the purple monster never lets me down when i need a hard hitting ball that wont leave a corrner

I purchased this ball for after doing some research because I wanted a ball that would really hook.....I got one in the Purple Monster alright!!  I am not a huge hook thrower. I throw with a lot of speed but not a whole lot of revs.  I asked for a very agressive drilling and boy did I get one.  Even with my style, it makes me look like I throw a huge hook. My other favorite ball is the Ebonite Apex Intensity, a pretty agressive ball in it's own right, and this thing makes that ball look really tame.  I can't really help you out with the drilling patterns, as I don't know all the terminology yet. I dont think you could pitch this ball too far out if you even wanted to!! I was trying to throw the ball from same spot I did with my Apex....forget about it!! I had to move over about 8 boards to the left of where I usually am standing to hit the pocket. Nice, agressive ball, especially for the money, but it appears it needs a lot of oil, because this thing wants to bite almost immediately off your hand with the box finish.

this ball was actually my dads and i was having troubles throwing a 14 pound ball to hard. so i took it out of the closet checked out the hand span. took it the next day to the house where i bowl at and had new finger grips put in and had the thumb drilled out a little more. and i was suprised because all my father usally owned was junk. maybe its just the way it was drilled but it is not really the type of ball that goes straight on for the 10 pin and then snaps out of no where dont get me wrong. This ball has decent hook and good could be used for a good spare ball.
