Length: 42FT

Volume: Medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS so far

COMMENTS: I was looking for a ball that I could use as a good step down from my Edge Solid or Grudge Pearl and be a little smoother than my Vandal Destroy, this fits the spot perfectly. I drilled this ball with my usual Pin-up above ring finger drilling, I was hoping for a ball that would get down the lane a little further than the Edge Solid and have a smooth but still strong backend and that is what I got. The Edge Pearl has decent length but not to long and really reads the lane perfectly and controls the breakpoint perfectly. I had been using a Vandal Destroy as my step down after these two but at times it was a little to jumpy of the spot and I would leave some 4 pins or even a stone 9pin due to the strong angle.
Sometimes when the lanes are really crisp on the backend or they start to breakdown a little I like to still use a ball with a smoother backend so it wont be extremely snappy and hard to control. If you are looking for a ball that will make THS look easy this will be that ball on medium oiled lanes. I'm looking forward to using this ball at the USBC National Tournament this year also, this and the Edge Solid will be getting a lot of play I think.

This ball is amazing. Starting from the price point, to the versatility, to the hitting power. It provides nice easy length, midlane read, and backend continuation. The layoutI put on the ball is 70x5x30. This ball for me has the same length as the freakshow pearl but is smoother off the breakpoint, not as flippy, with more continuation. Definitely a benchmark ball for me.

Right Handed
Ball Speed 17-18
Rev Rate 450
Pap 4 5/8 right 1 3/8 up

Ball Specs
Pin 2-3
Top Weight  2 3/4 ozs

Layout 50 x 41/8 x 55 with a small x hole

Man I really like this ball! Easy length and the ball picks up the mid-lane very well with a  very continuous motion until it clears the pin deck. I can tell already this is going to be a benchmark ball for me being I can can play multiple angles. For me l find this ball usable on various types of lane conditions. I also love that the ball is a solid color. I find it much easier to read the lanes and I can stay on top of my adjustments faster.

Edge Series is a great bang for your dollar!

COMMENTS

Likes:  Easy length and predictability

Dislikes: none

The Edge Pearl is a smooth and predictable ball with good length.  It is a good compliment to the Edge Solid and earlier midlane reacting balls like the Fanatic SS.  I find it to be best used when there is friction up front and I need a softer move on the backend.  For me it is about 5 and 2 right of the new Edge Solid on a house shot and about 4 feet later. The Edge Pearl is a great ball for playing more direct angles up the lane.  If your looking for a ball to play straighter angles l and to stay near the friction on house conditions or to control the breakpoint on tougher shots, the Edge Pearl is a great choice.

COMMENTS
The Edge Pearl is just as good as the Edge Solid.  The Edge pearl skids about 3-4 more feet than the Edge Solid and then makes a strong flip motion in the backend.  I laid mine out to give me a good compliment to my Edge Solid so I can move 2 left and give me a similar look as my Solid.  Both Edges are a must in your arsenal to take your bowling game to the next level.

LANE CONDITION

Length:  Different

Volume:  Heavy/and Medium Heavy

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS and Sport

COMMENTS

Likes:  Drilled the Edge Pearl pin down with cg kicked out and a small P3 hole.  Wanted a pearl that could be very versatile on most conditions.  Honestly really did not match up very well with this ball out of box surface was really over/under for me.  Decided to hit the surface with a 2000 grit SAAIR pad and really changed the reaction.  I now use this ball on almost every pattern I see, with the 2000 grit pad it smoothed out the reaction for me, but still gave me the pearl reaction on the backend that I was looking for.  I would highly suggest this ball for your normal league shot along with everything but heavy sport shots.  If you get it, try OOB first and adjust from there....

Dislikes:  For me it was the over/under reaction OOB.  Fixed this with a surface change

Everyone loved a Melee Jab.  Everyone wanted a Melee Jab back.  Well this is the next big thing compared to the Jab.  The pearl Edge is gonna be great when your Edge Solid begins to burn up.  My Edge is actually a few boards stronger downlane than compared to my Jab.  This ball is actually the first ball out of my bag on a THS

Edge Blue Pearl

I drilled my Edge Pearl 50 x 4 1/4 x 60 putting the pin below my fingers.  This ball gets through the front part of the lane with ease, with a surprising strong backend motion even with the pin under drilling, and has great stored energy creating an explosive hitting power through the pins.  This is an ideal ball for medium to light oil conditions.  When everyone is moving deep inside, you can pull this ball out, and play the lanes with straighter lines with excellent entry angle to the pocket.  This ball also responds very well to cover changes.  This is an excellent ball for league, and for shorter sport shot oil conditions.  Feel free to contact me by email with any questions; troy_300_1999@yahoo.com.

I have 2 Brunswick Edge Pearls....I'm Left-Handed and throw 15lb.
 1) The first Edge Pearl has the pin about an 1-1/2 to the left of the ring finger and has an extra hole.  It rolls great and goes long, still strong on the entry to the pocket.  I have played straight up 10 with ease and I have played the bump off the gutter outside first arrow from 10 to the gutter.  This ball is great for going straighter up the boards.
 2) The second Edge Pearl has the pin directly above both fingers about 1/2 inch, NO extra hole.  This Pearl is the stronger of the 2 and my favorite.  I recently bowled an NDO Tourney where I started to use the Edge Solid....I left quite a few corners the first 2 games.  Switched to this Pearl and got enough bite on the back end to get those corners to carry.... Made the top 5 stairstep and won the eliminator in the event.  These 2 Pearls are going with me everywhere so that I can be ready for any condition.

Type: THS and Sport Conditions (General Review)

Likes: Great partner to the Edge Solid, smooth, even arc, benchmark ball

Dislikes: N/A

I loved the Melee Jab and so this ball is like a Melee Jab on steroids!  It’s pearlized cover gets down the lane easily.  Once it exits the pattern, it is strong and continuous.  I have seen the Edge Pearl go a few feet longer that the Edge Solid and hook about three more boards on the backend for me.  I recently bowled a tournament where the heads started to go and I was able to switch the Edge Pearl and it was EXACTLY the ball I needed.  In fact, I hadn’t even had chance to throw it in practice but felt confident that this ball would be the right piece to go to.

This ball is a great companion to the Edge Solid.  When the Edge Solid gets to be too much, I can switch to the Edge Pearl and stand in the same place and manage the pocket easily.
