Thank you for reading this review and for the readers that have sent me great e-mails on my reviews. THANK YOU!!!
This a Very Exciting Ball for me to test and do a Review on. Mainly because it is amazing to me that Ball Manufactures seem to create or have a Pattern to their equipment, as a example for years Ebonite Balls had the History of Even Arcing and Predictable, but Lacked the Snap and Hit, now that has changed for Ebonite. Brunswick has had a History of Early Breakpoint Balls with Aggressive Coverstocks and kept the pins low, and so on and so on. Well Brunswick is now changing the old mold and coming out with some New Balls in the FUZE Series that will shake up the industry. The 1st I will write on is the Purple Pearl Reactive Fuze.
This ball basically does everything that Brunswick has given you info on in the introduction/specs page before my review.
Again, the Center I tested this ball on is the Newly Remodeled AMF Bowlero in Wauwatosa WI. Lanes were oiled 40 feet buffed to 46. Dry Outsides, "Christams Tree Pattern" in the inside with Clean backends. New HPL 9000 lane panels.
This Polished XLR-G2 Reactive Is a Georgous Purple Pearl Reactive. It is probably one of the best looking balls I have seen and have drilled. This new Reactive Coverstock gets through the driest heads with ease and stores the energy for where it counts, on the backends. I drilled my Fuze with the the Pin 3 3/4 from my P.A.P. and had the Cg. Off to the Right of my Grip Center. Because of the Low flare of this ball of only .023 Diff. stronger drillings should and can be used especially for the stroker/tweener's. Crankers can back off a little on the layouts.
I compared this ball to Red/Black Monster and My Parker Bohn M.V.P. The Purple Pearl Fuze was Cleaner through the 1st 15 feet and had good hook through the puddle in the center, it did not back up like most polished reactives do, or what we call under reacted, and when it made the turn to the pocket, it was beautiful, very strong but predictable, I knew it was there in the pocket when it came was off my hand, no skid/jerk here, clean and strong is a better description here . It was more predictable than the Parker and hit harder than the Red/Black Monster. This ball did not leave One ten pin in 3 games on Bowlero's house pattern. I have not seen a ball hit like this one from any other Brunswick ball in awhile, along with how clean it gets down the lane, no early here. Truly a awesome ball for Medium oily to Medium Dry.
In closing, I get asked all the time, what's the difference between the $150 reactive verse the $210 reactive ball. Before this ball came out, my answer would be not much, they all react pretty close. I cannot say that about this one, it is clearly that better of a ball reaction for the money and justify's paying the extra amount for this Top of the Line Reactive. Enjoy this ball.
Thank you for reading my review and good luck with you're bowling futures.
