The Brunswick Method Solid is a great first out of the bag ball. This ball uses the Synthesis Solid coverstock which is a combination of Brunswick's Relativity Traction and Ultra-Responsive technologies. This coverstock is paired with the successful Magnitude 055 High Diff Core to create a ball that offers traction with a powerful reaction at the backend when used on oily lanes.

Absolutely love this ball. I'm able to use this solid on some heavy conditions to allow me to keep the angles in from of me. The midlane traction is definitely noticeable, and it doesn't seem to stop going.  I didn't a make any surface adjustments to the ball, but I have noticed that the more I'm able to move left and get it to the friction, the it still recovers. It's interesting that I get a symmetrical type of roll with an asymmetrical type of pop. Definitely one that's going to stay in my bag.

Without question this is the strongest symmetrical pieces I've ever thrown. This ball flares on par with many asymmetrical balls. I have found it ideal on med-heavy and even heavy oil patterns with factory surface. Very good results on medium oil surfaces at a 4,000 surface. This ball makes a sharp jump off of the point, but has a smooth motion on the back after the jump. This is an excellent solid piece to complement the Method Hybrid and it hits just as hard.

COMMENTS

The Method Solid is a very strong, symmetrical ball.  The Method Solid reads the midlane quicker than the Method Hybrid, and has a stronger angular backend motion overall.  This symmetrical is gonna be a very great ball on sport shots and heavy volume house shots.

I am a big fan of the original Method so it was understandable that I was looking forward to the release of the new Method Solid. Because of its symmetric core (Magnitude 055 High Diff Core) and strong cover stock, this ball is a great choice at the beginning of a block or on heavier volume-type patterns. Shot 806 out of the box with this ball on a modified house shot and then took it to another tournament the following weekend on 43’ Shark and had a great look with that as well. This ball will help you manage the pocket, keep it in play without getting too angular on the back, and is one of the most versatile balls in the current Brunswick line.

I love my original Method as my benchmark ball and went 45x4.5x30 (pin over ring) to compliment a similar out of my Solid when encountering fresh oil.
Out of the box, the Method Solid was a tank.  I couldn't get it far enough down the lane without having to swing my angles open, so a quick trip to the spinner with a tiny squirt of polish got the ball to read in the correct spot and play a little closer to the hybrid.
Our Challenge league is currently on 41' Beaten Path which plays very similar in length and volume to our THS, but with less margin for error.  The Method Solid has been my go to on fresh, giving me the traction I need when getting the ball to the right, but without the sharp back end that I am seeing from most other balls in my bag while the back ends are still crisp.  Ideally, this ball ends up back in my bag sometime during game 2 and I can transition to my original Method for more length and response down the lane to carry the corners.

In terms of shape, the Method Solid is even rolling and smooth off the back end, helping me maximize my pocket %.  This ball seems to round the corner a little better than my Magnitude 055, which would be quicker to roll forward once it hit friction.  Compared to other balls in my bag, it is at least a step sooner than my original Method, but a step below my Kingpin Rule.

I recommend the Method Solid for bowlers looking for traction and control on tricky fresh patterns such as those seen at Nationals.   Those who spin the ball will be happy to see their ball pick up sooner and not go sideways, while bowlers looking for the strength of a high end ball, but with a symmetric core will be very happy with the Method Solid.

The Method Solid for me is an oil loving beast.  If you encounter lane conditions where you are struggling for a ball to read the mid-lane or to hook to your liking then this is a terrific option.  It also has great shelf appeal.

Mine is drilled pin under ring finger and it picks up in just the right spot to store its energy at the right time to crush the pins.  If you prefer, a little polish to the out of box surface will allow the ball to push further down the lane and come off the back of the pattern a little harder than in its original surface condition.

This is a highly recommended ball to add to your arsenal, especially if you throw the Method Hybrid and like it's performance.  The Method Solid features Brunswick’s innovative outer core technology called DynamiCore. This industry-leading technology is a more durable outer material that yields less compression upon impact increasing hitting power and creating an undeniable difference in sound and pin carry.  This is a symmetric core bowling ball.
