The Brunswick Prism Hybrid high performance bowling ball helps introduce the Portal core which has a very low RG with a high differential and intermediate differential. This core features Brunswicks DynamiCore and DOT technology. This core is covered with Activator Composite Technology (ACT) Hybrid and then finished with 500 Siaair and then Crown Factory Compound. This finish offers easy length while still reacting at the breakpoint. The Prism Hybrid is a great compliment to the Prism Solid.  The Hybrid skids about 4 feet longer and has a more controllable flip backend motion.  It's a great benchmark ball for any arsenal and great for Medium to lighter oil patterns

It’s understandable that this ball is more versatile than the Prism Solid. Given its hybrid cover, this ball hooks about 4-5 boards less than the solid, but provides a much stronger and angular reaction on the backend given its cover. Stay firm with this ball and it won’t disappoint. Very clean through the mid-lane, this ball delivers strong hitting power. I’ve had pins flying in directions I haven’t had with other balls. I really like the original Method (Hybrid) and this ball is much stronger than the Method but still controllable and reliable. I always know where this ball is going.

The Prism Hybrid is a versatile angular ball that is very useful on moderate conditions.  This one gets weekly use in league.  I can use it on the fresh but where this Prism really shines once the transition occurs.  It has allowed me to move into the puddle of oil in the middle and go around the lane.  This ball is about 5 boards less overall than my Prism Solid and about 2 boards more than my Vapor Zone Pearl.  It is longer and more angular than the Prism Solid but less angular for me than the Vapor Zone.  This ball handles the oil very well and starts in the right part of the lane while maintaining backend reaction.  The Prism Hybrid is a great combination of angularity and predictability that will be useful for many styles on moderate conditions.  If you are looking for an angular ball that will handle oil check out the Prism Hybrid.

Drilled my Prism Hybrid 40x4x45 (same as my Solid) with the goal of having a big round shaped ball to be my #2 ball after my oilers to abuse the lanes in transition.  I have not historically been a fan of hybrids, but ever since the Method, Brunswick has completely changed my mind.
My first experience with this ball was of confusion.  The bright colours and strong back end shape looked awesome to my eye, but with all the entry angle, the ball would cut right past the 9 pin when flush in the pocket or be behind the headpin to ring a 10 because my angles were too sharp.  This is the shape that sells balls on youtube reviews, but I care more about score than covering boards on the back end, so I took 1k/3k to my Prism Hybrid.  It is common for me to remove the polish on most bowling balls as my ball roll naturally creates a little more directional change than the average player.  The scuff allowed me to cheat into the oil a little bit more, read the lane sooner and create a rounder shape down the lane that still recovers off the friction.  Most importantly, I had better control of my angles and the ball was rolling exactly how I had wanted.

The Prism Hybrid has been usable and effective on everything from our ridiculously slick 44' house pattern (Big Ben), to medium patterns across town, a 36' Challenge pattern and 44' Titanium.  The common denominator has been that I have been able to get a little bit left of everybody and take advantage of the clean back ends just a little outside of their breakpoints.  Being able to use a ball that gives me this much motion in the mid to latter portion of the lane allows me to play to my strengths which are getting in and hooking the ball.

Compared to other balls in my arsenal, the Prism Hybrid is one step below my Conspiracy Solid (my favorite heavy oil ball in recent memory) and a step stronger than my Gold Kingpin SE which is a strong Pearl Asym.  The roll of the Prism Hybrid most reminds me of the Mastermind Brainiac but able to handle more oil.
My Prism Hybrid is a vastly different ball from my Solid with the same layout.  It is amazing how much a coverstock can change ball motion and the Solid is an oil monster.  My Prism Solid is stronger (earlier) than my Conspiracy Solid and requires a considerable amount of oil to get down the lane.  I like the Prism Solid for when I need help getting the ball to roll on fresh oily lanes and to help burn in the track.  Once the hook spot has been created, I am quick to pull out the Hybrid so I can open up my angles and abuse the area offered by the lane.

I highly recommend the Prism Hybrid for anybody looking for some help opening up their angles during transition.  This ball will be a dream for anybody who is rev/speed matched and will help generate some motion backend for the rotationally challenged.  The heavy handed folk will have fun covering boards, but may want to use more surface to slow its response to the friction.  This ball could very well be my favorite release of 2019

Likes: This is my first ball drilled since Brunswick purchased the EBI brands.  The Prism Hybrid is a good one to start with as it rolls very nice on our current house pattern. Comparing it against my Track/ EBI equipment I would say it is a slightly smoother Track Tactix Hybrid.  It picks up a little sooner in the mids and is a little smoother down lane but has a very nice shape. Pins seem to stay low & mix well. I see using this anytime on house shot and for attacking when tournament patterns start to transition.

Lots of talk, lots of looks, lots of pin action!! The ball drives and drives well. It was much stronger than I expected for a hybrid. Much like my Track In2ition, this ball has a tendency to get into a roll early. With the strength of the ball, I will expect this one to come out a bit more often on the fresh for an event due to the controllable nature of the ball, and the fact that the hybrid coverstock helps retain a lot of energy. The hitting power on the ball is pretty impressive. Mine is laid out 70x4.75x30

I was a tad worried about the color scheme on the ball and it being distracted and being able to read the ball, but it’s easier on the eyes than expected.

Hello and thank you for stopping by to read my thoughts about this fantastic Brunswick piece, the Prism Hybrid. It has been a long time since I drilled a Brunswick ball. Honestly, it is exciting because some of the highlights of my career so far have come with a Brunswick ball. All of the relevant release specs can be found in my profile on here. I went with a 70 by 5 by 80 layout, going with something a little slower response to reflect what I bowl on most. So far, I have used this on an old wood surface with a house shot and my challenge league on HPL on a 35ft pattern. Both of these environments didn’t scream to me that I should be using the Prism Hybrid but I tried it out anyway. I was so surprised to see such a great mid-lane read with no quit down-lane. My first thoughts were that it would either bog down in the fronts or be too responsive for the backend. This is not what I encountered. The breakpoint motion is that of a big strong asymmetrical, but it doesn’t go too forward. This ball is very responsive to different releases, with the house shot allowing me to go after it and create plenty of shape. The challenge pattern is just that, a challenge because I have to utilize a lower rev rate and shallower angles. The Prism Hybrid just kept asking for more. I am very happy with this piece and am hopeful of the future of the Magnificent Seven.

Likes: I love that this ball goes long! It goes through all of the crud and over-under in the middle of the lane after many games of breakdown. You don't have to move as much because it goes so long and doesn't pick up mid-lane like several other bowling balls might after 5 games on sport shot bowling with those who have high rev rates. It's clean and powerful off the back end. I've shot many high games with this ball.

Dislikes: Because it is so clean, that can be a problem. But if you make sure to use it at the right time when the lane breaks down, it will do great things for you!

Prism Hybrid new low RG Protal core wrapped with A.C.T. Hybrid. It provides Super clean and a very strong skid flip reaction. It is super versatile for many volumes and lengths of patterns. I cracked the cover with a 3k by hand and it went from Beast to Super Beast mode. This ball is must to be in everyone’s bag.

The Prism Hybrid has nice length through the front part of the lane with a strong midlane reaction without being overly skid / flippy.  The Prism Hybrid goes nicely thought the pins with fantastic pin carry.  A very versatile piece that should be in everyone' bag.

Prism Hybrid

Another one of my favorites in the prism line, the hybrid offers the most predictable ball motion I’ve seen from hybrid bowling ball.  When the lanes start to transition or see early hook, this is a great ball to go to.  I found I can use this as a benchmark ball on league patterns, but typically use it as a transition ball in tournaments.  The last time I was in league, the lanes got real ugly, and I switched to this ball and shot 290.  It gives you a lot of versatility, very clean through the front, strong directional move, and super continuation through the pins.  This ball has so much stored energy by the time it hits the pin, you will definitely see a noticeable difference in pin action and hitting power.  Its an awesome hybrid bowling ball.   I drilled mine 70 x 4 1/2 x 40.  I love it, and have recommended several bowlers to get this ball with 100% on it getting them results.Feel free to email me with any questions at troy_300_1999@yahoo.com.

2 @ 15#

Rev rate 300 -315

Speed 15.5 mph

Tilt 13 degrees

PAP  4 3/4 over x 3/4 up

2 balls

Ball #1 drilled 70 x 3 3/4 x 20

The Prism Hybrid with this layout is long and very angular.  It gets through the front and mid lane super clean and has a very strong, angular motion to the pocket with ridiculous drive through the pins.  With this layout and box finish, I found the Hybrid to behave closer to a pearl in roll and reaction.  On a fresh THS, this ball reacted very fast when it found friction down lane, with a very sharp, angular motion that proved to be a bit to strong with the cleaner back ends.  I took the surface down to 2000 with an abralon pad and found I had much better carry.  I found that as the oil carried down throughout the set, I was able to control the back ends much better.

Ball #2 drilled 65 x 2 x 35

The shorter pin layout was phenomenal.  The reaction was very controllable and predictable.  The ball gets through the front of the lane with ease.  It has great ability to pick up and read the mids and has a strong and controllable motion to the pocket.  The ball was not jumpy at all and still hit with a ton of power.  I was able to move left and get the ball out with no worry about recovery.  I was also able move out with my feet and keep the angles in front of me.  Absolutely one of the most versatile balls I have ever rolled.  The Prism Hybrid is extremely receptive to surface changes and in this configuration, I can use it on a variety of lane conditions.  This is now the first ball out of my bag.
