I laid out the Gold Rhino Pro Vintage with a 70X5X60 with the extra hole at P3.  First thing I noticed out of the box was a great deal more skid through the front part of the lane than I thought there would be.  I was thinking this ball would be more like the original Gold Rhino Pro, which for me for pearl ball was a little early.  This ball is NOT at all like that.  It is about a foot and a half cleaner than the LT 48 Vintage and 3-4 stronger off the spot.  This ball will not be my first choice on the fresh unless the pattern is very blended.  It will see most of its time on medium  length and medium to lighter volume.  On longer patterns the ball clears way to easily, and shorter patterns likes to do too many tricks at the breakpoint.

Likes: Like the original Gold Rhino this ball will give you an entirely new perspective on ball motion from Brunswick. With its high rg core and the coverstock of the Exile this ball is going to get down lane cleaner (for me) than any other Brunswick ball in recent time. Usually I see to much skid and not enough flip from a higher rg ball (mostly because I'm slightly speed dominate), but with this ball once it sees the friction at the end of the pattern it doesn't take much time making a left hand turn through the pocket. With this ball being so clean and storing so much energy for the back part of the lane it is very flippy off the pattern and will drive through the pins with a very continuous motion. This ball, however, does not over-react when thrown to the right early instead it rolls up very nicely and depending on the angle of play will still send pins flying across the deck. This ball will also impress with its versatility. It has enough backend motion to be able to get in for the high-rev players without it skidding through the puddle in the middle but is clean enough through the fronts for slower players to be able to get the ball down lane. If the angularity of this ball is a scare to you, like all the Brunswick balls, surface will drastically change the motion and with 1,000 to 2,000 grit the backend motion will tone down and allow for a more predictable motion.

Dislikes: As of now, none.

The Rhino Pro looks so good.  It also is a great addition to the vintage line.  I drilled this ball 45 x 4-3/4 x 70 and it rolls great.  The lt48 was a very smooth ball and this ball handles a little more oil and is more angular.  This is a great ball for when the heads dry up a bit and you are needing a ball to get down the lane.

Here is a video of the rhino and scholar in a surface comparison.

Likes: I drilled up two Gold Rhino's.  The first one I drilled was a 60 x 4 1/2 x 70.  This would be my typically layout for equipment I like to use on league patterns.  I was surprised at how much this ball actually hooks.  This layout really had my ball jumping off the pattern and making a hard left hand turn.  This ball is stronger then the LT 48 for me by 2-3 boards for those people who like the Vintage line.  The strength of this ball, is its ability to rev up quickly, get through the fronts with ease, and then off the pattern make a very aggressive move to the pocket.  It is an awesome ball to have in your arsenal, but looks even better going down the lane.

My second Gold Rhino was drilled; 75 x 5 x 35.  I drilled this ball to be even quicker responding, allowing me to diverse in how I play the lanes.  I've used this on several sport patterns.  On the really flat pattern I struggled with using this because of how aggressive the ball reads the lane outside the pattern.  Where I had very good success with this ball was on a 41 foot sport pattern where I could keep my lines a little tighter and then it would read the pattern very true, and come strong off the pattern.  It allowed my miss right because of its recovery.

I think people are going to be surprised at how much this ball actually hooks.  It is a winner, and should be in everyone's bag.

I was very excited for the release of this ball. I have found it to match up on medium volume patterns. The Rhino Pro and the LT-48 are a great combination together. The rhino is about 3-4 boards stronger than the LT, it is also more angular. I believe this ball can be used on many conditions whether it be a sport or house shot. If your creating an arsenal this ball is a must have in your bag! !!!!

Current League Average: 237
Sport Average: 210

Intended Use:
I drilled up a Gold Rhino with the intents of having a medium total strength, angular, symmetric ball for use on softer, medium conditions.

Reaction:
This ball has a LOT of backend. Even with the smoother pin-down layout, the ball was very very angular with the OOB surface. With my higher speed/revrate combination, I needed to take the shine off the ball and hit the cover with 3000. The ball still retained that angular shape, but doesn't hesitate to hook in the puddle on a fresh house shot with the slightly roughed-up cover. It has also been good for me on very broken down long patterns when I need to get left and loft the gutter cap. The cover retains energy and still goes through the pins fairly well for deep angles.

Overall:
This gorgeous retro ball will be a great piece for anyone looking for that go-to skid-flip motion on house patterns. League bowlers will love it.

The Gold Rhino Pro is that ball in my ball that will give me confidence just like the original gold rhino did back in the days.  The ball has a very good coverstock from the Fortera and Brute series.  The core is similar to the LT-48 core and will pick up reading the midlane sooner than the LT-48.  I drilled mine exactly like my LT-48 and I must say both balls are outstanding complements for one another, if the LT-48 isnt reading the lanes soon enough, i switch to the gold rhino and if the gold rhino is too responsive off friction, I go to the LT-48.  The Gold Rhino Pro will give bowlers the confidence nowadays and sparks alot of people eyes because of the beautiful gold pearl color and great ball motion.

Likes: The Gold Rhino has a medium RG at 4.4, but is complimented with a higher differential.  What this means to your eyes, you will see a ball that easily gets through the fronts, even if they wear down, and because of this will get down lane and have a very strong breakpoint shape to the pocket.  I think many bowlers will be surprised at how much this ball hooks.  its incredibly versatile and can be used on a multiple variety of patterns.  Its ball motion makes it very predictable.  Due to its beautiful gold cover, you can physically see the ball rev up, clear the pattern, and then make it strong continuous motion through the pins.  This is a must for your bowling arsenal.
I have two different drillings for this ball.  I drilled one for my house shot which was a 60 x 4 1/2 x 70.  I really like this particular layout for this ball, which could be used more most bowlers.  Due to the natural characteristics of the ball with the core/cover combination this ball gets down lane easily, and with this drilling, the ball moves aggressively off the spot and destroys the pins.  It looks amazing going down the lane with its strong breakpoint shape recovers from almost anywhere on the lane.
My second drilling is for y more competitive shots; 75 x 5 x 35.  This drilling has allowed for me to get a little more length downland, but gives me an increased on the breakpoint shape.  For your longer sport patterns this is the ideal ball motion.  I love how it reacts on all oil patterns.  I haven't found a pattern yet, where I can't use this ball and score effectively.  Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

First of all this ball is amazing.  Brunswick is using their Fortify reactive coverstock which is used in Brunswick’s biggest flip bowling balls combined with The High Differential core allows this ball to easily get down the lane, picks up quickly off the pattern, and gives a strong breakpoint to the pins.  Bowlers will be surprised with how much this ball hooks.  It is incredibly versatile and will allow you play multiple angles.  It also respond well to any of your favorite drillings.  Also with its gold cover this ball looks absolutely amazing going down the lane.  You see the ball rev up as it goes down the lane, and then its strong breakpoint shape makes for a very impressive piece.  This maintained axis rotation is a product of the amazing cover and core combination.  When you throw this ball you’ll see it easily get down lane while revving up, storing its energy creating a strong backend motion, and then with its continuous motion through the pins will make for an impressive destruction of the pins.  This ball hits incredibly hard because it has so much maintained energy also providing improved carry.  Get one of these in your bag immediately.

I drilled one 60 x 4 1/2 x 70.   This is a pin under drilling. This is my standard drilling for bowling balls I want to use on house shots.  When I first threw this ball on a house shot, I was stunned as to how strong the breakpoint shape was, and the recovery I had with the Gold Rhino Pro.  The ball hits so hard and has a nice element of forgiveness.  Its predictable strong arc with this drilling makes adjustments on the lanes easier.  With its cover the ball clears the front part of the lane so well.  The house shot I bowl on is 43 feet in length, and I can play multiple angles with this ball.  If I want to hook the lane I can, or if I want to play straighter this ball allows me to do just that.

My second one I drilled 75 x 5 x 35.  I decided to use this layout for the Gold Rhino Pro so I could use it on my shorter sport pattern competitive shots allowing me a little more length and quicker response on the flip phase.  I’ve used this ball on a variety of sport shots.  I’ve recently used it on last years Nationals singles and doubles pattern where I was able to play the lanes fairly straight.  I had quite a bit a room with this ball.  If I missed in a little the Gold Rhino held its line, then cleared the pattern and drove through the pins.  When I missed my target a little out, with the strong VAL angle the ball made a quick strong reaction to the pins.  It really matched up well with that pattern.  I also bowled on a flat, short sport pattern.  I was able to get this ball down lane, with great stored energy, and had great ball motion through the pins.

The Gold Rhino Pro looks incredible going down the lanes.  Its so awesome that Brunswick is bringing back ones of its old classics, but with a much improved coverstock making it a great ball for todays game.  I have an LT48 as well, this ball is about 3-4 boards stronger for me.  I’m very confident pulling this ball out of the bag to start my block.  It stays so clean through the fronts, its a ball you can you for a long duration.  Please feel free to email me if you have any questions; troy_300_1999@yahoo.com

Bowler Stats:
18-19 mph
400-425 rpm
5-7 degree tilt
40-60 degree rotation

Layout: 45 degrees by 5.5" by 50 degrees

Initial thoughts: Any ball following the LT-48 in the new Vintage line better be something special. Couple this with the legacy of the original Gold Rhino and the new Vintage Gold Rhino Pro has some serious hype to live up to. The LT-48 (my favorite ball in quite some time) needed a partner with a little more midlane read and overall strength. The Gold Rhino is supposed to do just that. My layout for the Gold Rhino matches that of my favorite LT-48.

On the lanes: It's apparent from the first few shots that Brunswick did a perfect job of matching core and cover. The pearl Fortify cover (featured in the Exile and Brute) pushes effortlessly downlane while the modified Vintage core (added differential) is just enough horsepower to get the ball started quicker. On fresh conditions, my Gold Rhino Pro outhooks the LT-48 by about 3 boards. If I had to make an estimate, I'd say that 2 of those come from the Fortify cover with the other due to the modified core. Just send the ball out to the dry on house shots and let the Fortify cover bring it screaming back. As the lanes transition, the gap in hook potential between the Gold Rhino and the LT-48 starts narrowing ever so slightly. Only on the most burnt up conditions have my LT-48 and Gold Rhino had the same overall hook potential.

The increased strength of the Gold Rhino compared to the LT-48 makes for a very versatile ball for me. I have a total of 4 LT-48s just because the cover/core combo match up so well for me. With this first Gold Rhino comparing to my favorite LT-48 in the way that it does, I'm already planning on drilling several more. This should be the obvious choice for most bowlers on medium patterns or patterns that have gone through transition. I'll be traveling with at least one in my arsenal for what I imagine to be quite some time.

The Vintage Gold Rhino Pro is a throwback to the era when bowling was most popular and is a modern version of one of the greatest balls of all time.  This one doesn't disappoint.  It gets effortless length through the front part of the lane and recovers well as long as some friction is present.  The ball also has that original Gold Rhino shape. It has the length through the front of the lane with a strong, yet controllable, backend reaction that bowlers from the 1990s were accustomed to.  What this ball does better is handle the modern oilier lane conditions.  This ball is certainly more aggressive than the previous Gold Rhino with more recovery than the previously released Vintage LT 48.  The Gold Rhino fits right square in between my Melee Jab and My LT 48.  It is about 2 boards weaker than the Jab and about 2 boards stronger than the LT 48.  It is also a board or so stronger than my similarly drilled brute with an earlier reaction.  Where the Brute can be sideways on a fresher condition, the new Gold Rhino is smoother and more predictable.  I can start right around second arrow on our house shot with the Gold Rhino and move in all night without changing equipment.  If I need extra recovery all I have to do is slow the speed down and get the ball right and it recovers very easily. Pin carry is very good too.  I have sent more messengers with this ball than any mid price ball in recent memory.  It really seems to chop the corners out!  Overall the new Vintage Gold Rhino has to be one of the best values in the industry for its performance and the 20 dollar rebate.  If your looking for length and recovery on moderate to lighter lane conditions, check out the new Gold Rhino Pro today.  You wont be disappointed!

The Vintage Gold Rhino Pro is the latest ball in the Vintage line and it won't disappoint living up the original but is made for today's conditions. This ball fits just above the LT-48 and below the Melee Jab in reaction type. It has a lower RG core and a different coverstock compared to the LT-48. The Gold Rhino Pro is great for broken down conditions because it gets down lane easily and has a strong controllable motion off the dry. I have used this ball on medium oil conditions or when I need to move left and throw it to the friction. It has good recovery downlane because of the Fortera base coverstock that was used in the Brute. It is a great value with the vintage Brunswick look of the original Gold ball. It takes well to coverstock changes to get a different reaction if it has too much of a skid/flip motion.

Got a chance to throw the Mastermind Scholar and Gold Rhino Pro last night on the USBC Nationals Team pattern. The Scholar looked great on the fresh, the layout on this ball was 45/5.5/35.  It gave me traction in the mid-lane with a predictable continuous backend motion.  This ball is another home run in the Brunswick line.  In my opinion, this is the most angular high end ball we have ever come out with.

The Gold Rhino Pro was what I threw later in the day.  The layout is 50/5/95.  It was definitely more overall hook than I anticipated. The Mastermind Scholar looked great on the fresh, Melee Jab looked good through the first transition and then the Gold Rhino Pro stole the show. When the front of the lane started to burn up and I had wiggle down lane this ball got through the front with ease and gave me all of the backend continuation I could ask for. I can see myself using this ball on everything.

What I am looking for when I compete Is an aggressive yet predictable shape as I migrate from bowling ball to bowling ball. Top to bottom, our line is fantastic, there are multiple balls for a variety of styles and our covers are as versatile as can be. Please trust me, go to your pro shop and give Brunswick a chance, you won't be disappointed. If there is anything I can do to help you decide which ball would suit you the best, just send me a message!

Drilled up the new Vintage Gold Rhino Pro
Layout:::: 50 X 4 1/4 X 35  Pin Under the Bridge
 Box Surface
Rev Rate ::: 350
Ball speed:::: 16 mph
Condition:::::41 ft.  House shot

What I was looking for the Rhino Pro to do was get through the front as easy as the LT48 but more of a back end reaction. That is exactly what I got but with  it has a stronger back end on the fresh that I thought.  The Gold Rhino Pro gets through the front effortlessly and with the  agles I used it tends to react a little stronger off the friction that I thought.  I was able to move left 4 and 2 and when I found pocket it was just strike after strike.
This ball doesn't disappoint . When it becomes to strong in the later games I change to the LT48 for a cleaner backend reaction .  The core and cover stock matchup is perfect.
I recommend everyone to add this ball to their arsenal.

The Gold rhino pro is a great addition the vintage series. The pin down Layout on this ball gives  me a great  motion of the friction. The ball clears the heads very well creating great continuation through the pins. Even when the lanes start to break down this ball has no problem storing energy. Bowlers will be pleasantly surprised with reaction of this ball at its low price point. Ball is very versatile and works well with many different angles and releases. It fits nicely in between my LT-48 and melee jab.

Wow. That's really all I have to say. This ball is absolutely incredible. It has a formulation of the coverstock from the Fortera Exile, which was one of my favorite releases over the last year. Putting that over the predictable and reliable Vintage core gives this ball quite a bit more kick than the Vintage LT48. I drilled this pin under the bridge and cg kicked out to maximize the limit for side weight. The Rhino has great length with a really strong but controllable back end reaction. Love it for game 2 and later in league. I know I can jump from the Mastermind Scholar to the Gold Rhino Pro when it gets too jumpy for the Scholar.

I was very excited for the release of this ball since the 1st one is my favorite ball of all time! I drilled this ball 55x4.5x40 hole at P2 same as I drill my Melee Jab and LT48. This ball fits between them perfectly. I have found it to match up on medium volume patterns. The Rhino Pro is about 3-4 boards stronger than the LT, it is also more angular. I believe this ball can be used on many conditions whether it be a sport or house shot. If your creating an arsenal this ball is a must have in your bag! !!!!

Likes: In case you ever wanted a ball that looks cool AND scores, Brunswick has that covered with this release.  Wonderful read of friction, without being too flippy.  This ball at this price is an absolute steal!  As others have stated, it's easy to get through the fronts with a strong, but controllable, move later.  Great carry!

Dislikes:  At first it was a tad too clean, but I hit it quickly on the spinner with a 2000 sia air pad and water and BINGO!

The latest edition to the Vintage line, and it does not disappoint. I found I could get left with this rock and swing the lane. Not as clean through the front as the Melee Jab or the Vintage LT 48 but, to be honest, way more ball than either of those. This thing was just flat fun to throw. Saved plenty of energy for a big move off the friction. I can see this in every league players hands and tournament players will love this on a variety of tournament conditions.

Likes:  I have not been this excited about a release of a bowling ball ever! Back in the day if you didn't have a Gold Rhino Pro chances are you were getting beat by someone throwing one. Not only does it look amazing on the lanes but its performance is even better.  Compared to the Vintage LT48 its just as smooth through the front part of the lane but 3-5 boards stronger in the back part. I love how it also keeps the pins low on the deck, I have gotten some pretty sweet messengers with it so far. This ball is a great addition to my bag and fits nicely in between my LT48 and Melee Jab. I would recommend this buy to everyone!

Dislikes: That it took so long to remake it!

Let me introduce you to the next great ball from Brunswick. The Gold Rhino Pro. Yes I said that right the legend of one of the greatest balls produced by Brunswick Bowling has come back to life with new technology for today’s lane conditions. The new Rhino Pro has the Fortify Cover stock that is off the Intrigue and the original Exile. The core is the proven core that was in last year’s Vintage Line in the Lt-48. I drilled my Gold Rhino Pro the same as my LT-48 which was drilling the pin out in kicking the cg out a little. The gold rhino pro hooks about 3-4 more boards than the LT-48. Both bowling balls are out of box surface. When throwing my Gold Rhino Pro it is so clean getting thru the head area that it keeps a great amount of energy and creates so much drive off the back end of the lane that it just keeps going. This ball is a must have for anyone looking to go old school with new school technology and an all-around ball that will help you read the lanes when you are starting your league or tournament play. #TeamBrunswick

The Vintage Gold Rhino is like a ball I've never had before.  This ball has very great shelf appeal just by the color alone.  This ball is great.  This ball compared to all the other balls in my bag it allows me to close down my angles when needed.  For me its a great benchmark ball that can be the first ball out of your bag just go get an idea of how the lanes are.  This ball is just amazing with alot of hitting power and continuation through the pins.

The Vintage Gold Rhino Pro is the second ball in Brunswick’s Vintage line.  With the first ball in this line being SO successful, this ball had a lot of hype to live up to.
I remember this ball when I was younger, now 34.  I never got this ball when I was young, but was super excited to be getting it now.  When I was young, this ball was known to be many people’s favorite ball.
For me the Gold Rhino falls into a benchmark ball reaction.  I typically like to start with the original Red Melee.  If I need something a little stronger on the backend, I will go to the Gold Rhino.
The Gold Rhino clears the front part of the lanes, revs hard in the mid-lane, and cotinous to drive through the pins.  I would classify the ball motion as a strong arc.  I would say the Gold Rhino is 4 and 2 stronger than my LT-48.
If you’re looking for a all-purpose ball, that drives through that pin hard, the Gold Rhino will not disappoint you.

The Vintage Gold Rhino Pro has been one of my go to balls ever since I drilled it the week it was released. I love the motion this ball gives me as it is very clean through the front part of the lane with an extremely controllable motion in the back end. The pin under layout I chose (50 x 4 1/4 x 70) helps give me this smooth controllable motion in the back even though it is a pearl coverstock. This is a ball I can take out of my bag when I need something I know I can consistently get to the pocket when the lanes are over/under and choppy. This ball will always be in my bag and I am definitely considering drilling another one pin up to give me more length and really take advantage of the pearl coverstock with a sharper breakpoint.

Dislikes:
For me I feel the only disadvantage I have with this ball is when I get later in to squad and I have to move in. If I catch a portion of the lane with a heavier amount of oil it tends to skid a bit too far and miss it's breakpoint.

Rhino Pro Gold... what else is there to say. How can I not be happy just to see this name back. I had the original when I was a teenager. Loved it. So I was happy to hear the name coming back.

The RPG does have a symmetrical core wrapped in the Fortify pearl cover. This combo provides an easy glide through the fronts. Break point isn't too angular. It provides a nice predictable motion off the spot.

I have two of these drilled now.
First is drilled 55x5.5x35 to match a LT48 to compare. The LT that is drilled this way has been a great ball in my bag since the day it was drilled so I figured I couldn't go wrong. This one provides me that ease through the fronts and adds a touch more angle off the spot. Unfortunately I have only really used this on THS but here is what I have found. This layout provides me the ability to start with the ball and chase for the entire league series most of the time. For me I could have a little more angle later to continue use but I have other balls that fit that bill. I had the same thing with the LT48. But as with the LT I can move right and shut angles down or I can open up the lane to a certain extent. Again this was by choice.  I have found this ball to be about 2 and 1 more than the LT. Biggest difference being the shape.

2nd drill is the pin in the palm. This layout matches up with me very well. For me it allows me to really read the lane, especially on benchmark type balls. This provides me smooth when I want it and angle when I want it. I have shut down my angles all the way to playing left of the 4th arrow with this ball without any worries.

If you are looking for a new benchmark ball that will be able to be used more than one game. This is your ball. And if you don't, well who doesn't want a Rhino Pro Gold.

Testing done on Kegel Middle Road 39'

The Gold Rhino Pro is a great addition to the vintage line. The Fortify pearl cover enables the ball to go very long before it starts to see the lane. This ball is great in league because you can stay further right longer which creates more angle entry and more strikes. This ball is a very versatile ball that will match up to many different styles of bowlers. This ball gives you more overall hook than the LT-48 with a sharper backend reaction. This ball has a $20 instant rebate which gives you a ton of performance for the price. Stop by your local pro shop and have one drilled today, you won’t be disappointed.

Likes:The Gold Rhinopro is back, with a modified version but  keeping what made this ball great, which is the skid flip motiin.I have to say that I was overly excited when I learnt that Brunswick was amaking this ball, I loved the original one back in the day.

I drilled mine 45x4x60, with a P3 hole. I wanted the ball to fit between my grease monkey whack and my original gm. Got exactly that,  easy length,  little bit of midlane with an angular move to the pocket.  I usually have issues with carry with this type of drill when opening up the lane, never seem to get enough backend. But with this ball, its not the case, it flips anyways.

Brunswick really hit the nail on the head with this release, their vintage line just keeps getting better.
Dislikes: None, this ball is awesome.

Likes: Love the Color, Very Rich Looking. Great Ball reaction and hit for the money. I drilled my Rhino Gold with my favorite layout 55X41/4X35. Motion is of a typical pearl reactive. Very clean through the fronts and very strong change of direction when the ball comes in contact with friction. Very hard hit for a symmetrical core. Bowler with slower speed, drier lane conditions or rev dominant players will love this ball. Compared to the Brunswick Fortera Intrigue, the Vintage Rhino reads a touch earlier and is much smoother off the dry.

Dislikes: None.

First,  please forgive me for my newness to all of this and not understanding most of the bowling jargon that is being used.  But hopefully I can get a response to my question. I am not a new bowler,  but becoming more of an avid bowler. I am left handed and was using a plastic ball,  stepped up to the Brunswick Strike King which has improved my game tremendously.  However picking up the 7 pin is a headache, however I am looking for a ball to add and I am wondering if this would be a good ball to add?  Thank you!

Drilled up the new Vintage Gold Rhino Pro
Layout.....35 x 4 4/1 x 30....wh on PAP
Ball speed.....17

I was so excited when this release came out as I bowled my first 300 with the original.

That is exactly what I got but with it has a stronger back end on the fresh that I thought. The Gold Rhino Pro gets through the fronts super clean and with a quick move off the spot.  THIS BALL DOES NOT LEAVE 10 PINS.....
This ball will not disappoint. The core and cover stock combination is wonderful for my speed and rev rate.
I recommend everyone to add this ball to their arsenal.

The Rhino is back, Stronger than ever! The second release in the Vintage Line gives you more length and overall hook than the LT-48. The Gold Rhino Pro has the High Differential Vintage core and is wrap with the Fortify reactive coverstock. With the royal compound finish, the Gold Rhino Pro skids effortlessly through the front and has superior entry angle for exceptionnal pin action.

I drilled it 50x4.25x70. The reason: THS! That’s the first ball out of my bag when I bowl leagues. Predictable reaction with a lot of backend. That’s the perfect ball for me because I’m an high rev, cranker type of player. With the Rhino, I can play 3 or 4 games league without changing to another ball. It gives me enough control on fresh condition and a lot of backend when the lanes open up. To give you an idea, I put 4K abralon on it to calm down the reaction even with the pin down drilling.

I recommend that ball for every bowler who wants a ball that has a lot of backend at an affordable price.

Vintage Rhino Pro Gold
Bowler Stats:  375 RPM, PAP 4 5/8 over, 1/8" Up
Ball layout 60x5x40 (pin up) at 4k.
The intent of the Rhino Gold would be to fit below the Melee Jab (which is REALLY strong off the friction), yet stronger than the LT48 to be used on burnt up patterns.
My initial reaction to this ball was amazement at how long it slid in the oil.  As a player who much prefers open angles than staying up the lane, I should have known that high gloss on a pin up pearl was going to be a bit sensitive, so a quick hit of 4k immediately blended out my reaction.
I've thrown it on 37' Broadway, 41' Beaten Path as well as our house pattern.
Surprisingly, the Rhino gave me a decent look on short and allowed me to stay further right than with most of my other equipment.  It held line well on shots inside of target but is just too strong off of the friction on shots that hit the friction early.
My best look with this ball so far has been 41' Beaten Path on burn.  The pattern usually starts out best straighter, but in our house breaks down real fast and forces everybody in.  The Gold Rhino gives me a smoother shape down the lane than my Jab but more hook than my Hooligan to be that happy medium to best open up the lane.

I recommend this ball for somebody who is looking for a ball to switch to in the latter games of league play or as a control ball for late in a tournament.  The Gold Rhino Pro would likely be an even better match up for people with softer ball speed and is a ball that I make sure to carry when facing beat up lane surfaces
