What do you think?
« on: August 13, 2006, 05:15:48 PM »
This is the first time I edited a vid of me bowling. Let me know what you guys think. Sorry I have no music on my notebook, so this could be a little boring. I shot these clips at league on Friday night. The lighting at the alley is a little dim.

i would say that you're muscling the ball a lot which isnt good.  If you start your approach with a good push-off on the first step (2nd step if you use a 5step approach), and let the ball swing back and fourth effortlessly, then you should be able to tone down the amount of force you put into the ball.  Also, keep your arm straight throughout the entire swing motion.

Would have to agree with everything that Noy said...

Also, work on balance at the line. You fall off the shot. Mostly because you muscle the ball so much.

Me: "I was having trouble with my thumb hole, so I had to sit there and finger my balls for like 5 minutes."
Wife: "Heh, that's more than you've done for me lately."
Me: "Yeah, well my balls don't BLEED for a week out of every month."

Also, you shouln't be leaning over. You Should have an upright posture with a good  knee bend and be balanced at the foul line. Keep your right foot on the floor when you realease the ball

Dont be silly you have to lean over if u are a power player! All power players need to lean to feed the ball to the right.

dont be silly, players need to be versitile.

stay upright, feet straight, shoulders sqaure to the line.

trail foot ON THE FLOOR!

you dont need to bend over to get revs, look at PB3.

That is maybe why I have a bad knee.  So keep my trail leg lower to the ground to get a straighter posture, been my knee, and not my elbow. Man that's a lot to work on.lol

Thanks guys, anything else you see that could help would be much appreciated.

just focus on those 3 things for now.

i wasnt able to clear my trail leg before last seasons coaching.

my left knee used to throb after/during bowling.

not anymore, you'll notice a big difference with balance at the line.

when you know you've got it, you'll be able to pose at the line until the ball gets to the pins.

oops, wrong forum, sorry.

But as long as I'm here, yes, stay in balance, plant that trailing foot on the floor and try using a little finesse vs. muscle. It'll all come around if you focus on one thing at a time.
