12# Blast Zone...

Core or NO core?

A friend's son, has one, and doesn't like the reaction.

He's 10-11....140 average.

Loves Tommy Jones and PBIII.

I had to explain the core, etc., to my friend.

He said: "It's sounds like rocket science!"

I said: "No, Kidding."

CORE!  (see link below)  He may need a little polish or even 4000 abralon. I'm just guessing that his ball speed isn't too high. The cover comes pretty strong from Brunswick, so we've had to smooth most of them out to some degree. Good luck.

noclay,

Thanks. I told him I wasn't familiar with Big B.
I guessed that the core would be somewhat like the Columbia Scout Core.
Guess I was wrong.

I haven't seen his son bowl for 6 months.

I know he tries to hook the ball...

Duke,
You're welcome!  Most people see the late movement and equate that to "hook" so do have him take the ball to between 1200-1500 then apply Rough Buff, or something similar. In the Storm polish line, #2 is pretty close to the rough buff, I think.
His pro shop probably has at least one of those two polishes (compounds).  Good luck.  Let me know if this works, or not, because I've tried mine all over the spectrum (dull to shiny).

Lane,

I met with my little bowler yesterday...

He throws the ball about 12-14 mph...BZ was pretty dull.
My driller watched him roll the ball a few times, and agreed with me, that the ball was not hooking as it was burning up.

He cleaned it up, and put a coat or Rough n Buff on it.
That did the trick...gave him some length and nice finish on the back end.

Thanks.

Have a Safe and Happy Holiday.
