Rico drilling will usually make the late movement more smooth. This cover responds pretty fast to friction, so I'd also knock the shine off a bit.

I've never thought of my Python as anything close to "tame". The Avalanche pearl kinda' fills that reaction for me. Good luck.

Rico drillings provide a powerful continuous reaction. If you are trying to eliminate the sharp backend reaction or smooth out over/under it will be effective.  Be aware that this pin position can track over your middle finger hole if you have a high ball track.  You will need the correct pin out distance and starting top weight to position the weight hole in the proper location to move the bow tie if you are a high track player.

You probably won''t get "tame", you will get a bit earlier, rollier/smoother, with about the same total hook. The ball will, most likely, still appear reasonably strong on the backends since that is it''s nature.

RICO doesn''t "tame" a ball, it just makes it start its reaction sooner and spreads it over a greater length, but the total reaction is still there.

Makes a ball more predictable to me.
