16lbs vs. 15lbs?
« on: May 01, 2005, 10:35:57 AM »
can anyone give me some advice on which is a better weight?  I have a 16lbs UI that i like... however, after about three or four games it seems that i cant produce the same revs or ball action...   i thought maybe switching to a lighter ball would help??  any suggestions???

i never recoment to anyone who comes to my shop to buy 16. With todays technology of cores and covers, you dont need a heavy ball to nock the pins down. The cores and covers generate so much torque, and rev up so easily and create power so quickly that there is no point in straining your arms trying to get a 16 pounder onto the lane. 15 or 14 lbs is the way to go now-a-days.

Agreed...unfortunately there is no way to just drop a pound off a bowling ball, not even forcing it to eat healthy or exercise A weight hole could make it a tad lighter but that would also effect the reaction...
