Total Inferno reviews
« on: December 07, 2006, 10:54:41 PM »
I was kind of curious as to why there haven't been any Total
Inferno reviews posted???  I've really begun to like my used
Smokin' that I bought and my high game and series were both w/
the green PBA Inferno.  I was thinking about going w/ another
Brunswick in the near future and would like to hear a few things
about the Total.  Reviews???

One reason for the lack of reviews may be that the Total is just now becoming more generally available in the marketplace.  In our area, only the staffers have them right now.

They all rev up so fast if your not bowling on a real good surface they dont seem to work.

Not sure I can entirely agree with that generalization.

The local pro shop guy is a Brunswick staffer, and he uses his Total on a second-shift condition at our center, which has beat-up synthetic panels in front and 40-year-old wood in back.  He cleaned my clock with that thing last week.

I used a Radical in a tournament last weekend at a wood house with a bad surface, and while I don't have a *lot* of hand, I had no problem getting it through the front on a condition where my Red Zone was burning up just past the splices.

mine clears the heads great, even on beat wood, that is on its last cut... in the box surface, for me it only reacted in the backeds, and was uncontrollable, the flip was just too strong even pin down. but I recently took it to 4000 and i really see this ball shine, it revs up nice and hits harder than any big b ball that I have seen. it still dosent roll out too. i can play to the burn with it at 4k and it dosnet quit. the vid in my sig is when it was 500 grit with storm react a shine on it. thats the most controll ive had on it ever when it was shiny...

How would that ball have worked on 40 year old wood heads?

I don't really know, and I don't really care, and I don't really need to care, as I haven't *seen* a center with 40-year-old wood lanes for at least a decade, much less bowled in one.

Beat up synthetic heads is still a good surface as far as im concerned.

Can you perhaps edify us further by giving an example of what *you* consider to be a versatile ball?

Out of box finish or polished, was it a ruff buff one or polished one from factory. We have one in the shop just sitting there and suprised no one has bought it yet. It is kinda ugly with the ruff buff finish on it though. Maybe we should polish it and put it back on display lol.

watcher,

I personally consider Guardian to be THE worst finish a human should have to bowl on. I'll take 40 year old wood over that junk ANY day. If I had to bowl on an 80 foot Guardian lane I think my ball would come to a complete stop. LOL.

I think 830 on Guardian should be considered 900.

I have bowled on the same pair as Jake in a tournament, and that kid is an animal.  If memory serves, he is only 18?!  He is easily PBA regional material or better.

The surprising part of the post was that Blaise was "only" able to manage 630 on the same pair!  If the Total made that much of a difference between these two, there must be something to it.

Mine is on its way... can't wait to check it out.

There is no ball that any company has produced that will work on every lane condition, that is not what brunsrich is saying, he's saying that the Total will work on a great variety of surfaces with volumes ranging from true meduim to nearly very heavy.  The Total, I personally believe is a bit better on anvilane or something like that due to the strength, and early rolling nature.  The ball does roll early like you say.  I don't care that the cover is as hard as it is, when you put a core in it that has an rg that is .5 less than pretty much anything on the market, it will pick up early.

my ai clears the heads good as long as i stay firm with the ball; soften up speed and it's "no sleep to brooklyn" or through the nose spli city thinking about the total or radical. i bowl in a sh!ty house old everything.
