Radical Retraction

Inititally I didn't think I matched up very well with my Radical Inferno.  My driller drilled it Rico drilling and we tried it factory polish, 1000 grit no polish, and finally took it down to 220 then 400 then rough buff.  It just didn't seem to give me a consistant reaction.

Well, I should have known better than to bowl 10 or 15 games with a ball and make a decision. I kept bowling with this on and off and now that a little of the rough buff has worn off, the ball is awesome.

Friday night, I was bowling on a 2 day old burnt up house shot.  The Punisher would over react from the first arrow.  So I tried the Radical and could either target first arrow and strike or move over and target second arrow.  I got a great reaction and carry either way.

The ball would go long through the heads and midlane, then just make a nice smooth move to the pocket.  Very consistant reaction.  The pin carry and action was great.  And it was nice not having to work so hard at throwing the ball, since I was tired and would have had to move further inside with something more aggressive.

I also threw a Strike Zone, Absolute Inferno, and Original besides the Punisher and Radical.  The Absolute was the only other ball that would consistantly strike on this burnt up shot, without having to move way left.

So I would strongly encourage anyone with a Radical to try the Rough buff and let the ball develop a track, maybe 25-30 games before passing a judgement.  I really like the ball now.  It is different than anything else I have, and I find more and more situtations to use it at the Brunswick synthetic lanes I bowl at.

My ball driller also threw it and he is a high revs (375) player and he just loved it.  He could move quite a bit left with the ball and really swing it. Although he has a large arsenal, he likes the Radical well enough he is going to order one himself and drill it.

In despair, a friend of mine took his RadI to 4.000 Abralon - a much better solution than the OOB polish. Before, the ball would have been better called "Erratic Inferno". I just can tell anyone to try some surface change if the ball is too itchy OOB!
