What's a better Oil Ball, the Absolute or Ultimate?
« on: March 17, 2005, 10:45:55 AM »

I'm getting ready for the heavy oil summer league, and wondering what's better for heavy oil. Thanks!

I think they both handle oil fairly well, mostly depends on your personal stats and where you want to see the hook.  The Ultimate is going to be earlier with a smoother breakpoint, whereas the Absolute will be cleaner through the the front part of the lane but have a sharper move through the midlanes and backend.  If your speed is on the medium side, and you dont have much axis tilt, the Absolute would probably be the better bet as it will store energy better and read well at end of the oil pattern.  If you have medium+ speed and have a moderate to great amount of axis tilt, the Ultimate will give you a stronger read on the pattern and more than likely generate a higher striking percentage ON OIL.  Hope this helps.
