Monster line

Can anyone tell me when the Monster line came out? I have a Bruiser (I love that ball) and would like to know how old it is. Thanks

Thanks, I've been wondering if I need a newer ball but I'm averaging 209 and 214 in league with it. Part of me asks what would I do with a new ball but the other side of me says I'm averaging over 200 so stick with what works. Any ideas?

I think new bowling balls are overrated and unnecessary especially after my tournament last night where the best ball was a straight ball.  40+ feet of flood makes any ball go straight.

i believe the monster line came out in january of 2000. similar concept to the bvp line. somewhat older tech coverstocks and cores at a mid-price point. great roll. great balls.

It's got a proven core and solid PK18, one of the longest lasting covers ever poured.  You can still buy solid PK18 balls easily, and cores in the mid-price range are not significantly different.  If it works, keep it.

Oh I'm going to keep it, I was just wondering what something new would do. Maybe something from the Inferno line?

Chuck, is there a specific reaction that you're looking for?

I'm not looking for any specific reaction. I know the Bruiser is getting along in years and am wondering if I should try something new. The Bruiser still hits very hard and will never leave the bag so I guess I'm just trying to talk myself into buying a new ball. I go the Nationals at the end of next month and I've read there is more oil than last time I was there. I have the Bruiser at 600 wetsand but I know it's not really an oil ball. I have a Nemesis at 400 wetsand that I use as my oiler but I don't see enough oil to use it. I don't know how it would react in true oil.

Well, I don't know if your experiences would be the same, but for me, the Nemesis wasn't really the best oil ball out there, even with the surface taken down.  I've thrown four of them, and all of them have needed friction on the lanes in order to make enough of a move to carry the corners.

I haven't seen you bowl in a few years, but if you're looking for something for oilier conditions that will pick up a roll sooner, then you might want to consider the Total Inferno.  The jury is still out on my Fury;  the sharpness at the break gives me something that I don't already have in the bag, but even in box finish, it doesn't seem to start up as quickly as the Total does.
