807 with Red Zone
« on: September 08, 2006, 01:15:49 PM »
Layout by Jesse James of In the Zone Pro Shop, owner of the Lawrence, KC, and Topeka locations, and drilled by Brian Zachary of In the Zone Pro Shop, manager of the Topeka location.  I've said before it's the best ball I've ever owned, and it keeps proving itself time and time again.  I can use it at every house in town (which is a rarity, given the vast differences in surface and pattern at each different house), and the layout and drill make it absolutely the perfect ball for me to throw.  I subbed tonight at the resurfaced wood house, 39 feet, with ob outside 5 past 30 feet.  It's a little bit flatter shot like my Laneshield house, but if you get inside and project it out to 10, you'll be in the pocket all night.  There was a guy playing a Scorchin down 7, so I had a little bumper that developed outside towards the end of the 2nd game.  Had to work for it too, 230-279-298-807.  Should have tried harder on the last ball of the last game, but I've had 300's, never had 800, so I just picked the ball up and kept it on the lane.  Caved in the 4-6 first shot in the last game, and tripped a couple 4's, but everything else was in the pocket.  Of course I got away with a few here and there, but doesn't everybody?  Feels good to get it done and out of the way though, plus I've never shot 298 before, so I got that ring too . .

Thanks all!  Mogators, I BELIEVE it's 4 1/2 x 4 1/2, cg is in line with the pin and psa, psa is about two inches right of my thumb, measuring from the grip midline.  Pin is diagonally up and right from my ring finger.

Another little interesting tidbit, this is the first ball I've had two honor scores with.  My 4 300's and 2 299's were each with a different ball.  The friend I was subbing for told me the league started at 6:30.  That's when scoring started, lol, so I only got two practice shots before I started.  I'm always one that likes to hold out hope if I'm over 500 after two, and I had a good enough line after that second game that I knew I'd have a good set, but I didn't think I really had a chance until the 7th frame of the last game.  Lol, I was loaded up on some "false courage" too, so that helped.  Believe this though, Nick sooooo isn't kidding when he says this ball is MONEY.  It's flat out stupid good . .

HamPster, Nice!!!

I haven't had a chance to use mine much lately (only 6 games on it so far.) This is great news and I hope you keep it up! I am excited to get some game time in with mine as well.

Bowl good!

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

Since I only throw Infernos, just call me the Flamethrower.
