« on: June 06, 2008, 10:33:32 AM »
I've been outof bowling for 10 years and getting into a summer league.  Looking for a new ball.  Nothing to exspensive.I can throw a hook. I'm RH.

Have no idea what ball to get.  Any company are up for recommendations.  I throw a moderate hook from what i remember.
Waslooking at mabye a  storm street rod series, Elite R series ball, orbruswick ???

Nor sureon brunswick since they show charts with those big hooks.  i never threw them that big before.

Any help appreciated.  Would like to buy by sunday.

T-road series or planet series are great balls.

The street rods look like they will be good balls.

Depending on your sytle and if it has to be Brunswick, either check the new Swarm (if you play slower and/or with more revs) or the Copperhead (for lower speed and less revs). IMHO very good value for money, and they both would make a good combo for medium-dry to medium-oily shots for most bowlers.

The Brunswick charts are intended to allow one to see the difference between the balls rather than a true estimate as to how much the ball will actually hook.  There are too many variables in bowling for a manufacturer to accurately estimate how much a ball will hook.

You'll probably be pleased with any manufacturers' mid-priced balls.  Personally I'd avoid the Elite balls as, in my opinion, their balls are over-priced for what you get.

I went to a demonstration for Storm and was very impressed with the Street Rod(s).  Both the solid and the pearl were excellent balls and performed beyond my expectations.

Avalanche Solid, the Swarm and Copperhead have not been released as of yet.  The T-road Solid by Storm is a good ball.  You may also look at the Emerald Vibe by Hammer.

The Avalanche Solid certainly has been released already.  It has been out for some time now.

Avalance Solid is great bang for the buck. Will give you the moderate hook you are looking for in your new league. Welcome Back!

Avalanche Solid from Brunswick or Pluto from Roto-Grip.  Lots of ball for the buck and easy to control.  Can't go wrong with either one.
