Question on Brunswick Serial numbers?
« on: June 08, 2006, 07:21:47 AM »
When buying a Brunswick ball NIB, should'nt the serial # stamped on the ball appear on the label on the box as well?

The first three characters are printed above the logo of the ball on the box.

Reason I am asking is b/c the serial on the ball is "CYM7176" and on the box above the Vapor Zone Logo it says "CYO" and I don't see the 7176 printed on the box sticker anywhere. I think the ball I received is in a different box than the original. I think the specs are gonna be wrong. The box says 2-3 inch pin but the actual pin length on the ball is only 1-5/8" from cg to edge on the pin. Even if I measure to the center of the pin...its only 1-3/4".

I would have it checked out by a pro shop person and if it is wrong, have it sent back unless you are okay with the specs on the ball you received.  However, if you purchase a ball, do not settle for less than what you want.

I wanted a 2-3 pin and usually that would mean the pin is "at least" 2" and "no more" than 3". I really have to put the pin under now.

If you wanted to go pin up, I would have gotten a 3-4" just to be safe.

Ok, have you weighed it? Are you saying you can't lay it out with the pin next to the ring with a 1 3/4" pin?

No. I have'nt weighed it or tried to lay it out. I brought this up b/c I just wanted to confirm that the ball is not the correct ball for the box it came in. The specs on the box is what I wanted, but the ball does'nt match. This came from a well respected seller here and i'm a little dissapointed.

It very well could have been put in the wrong box during an exchange with a distributor. Anything could have happened, I don't think anyone normally checks that much detail when selling a ball.

Glad to hear we answered your question though!
