Vapor vs. The One
« on: December 21, 2005, 07:20:28 AM »
big dillema. lookin for a ball to fit under my strike zone. drilled 4 inch pin to pap. mass bias under and right of thumb just a tad.  it goes long and snaps quite a bit.

id prolly look to drill the vapor/the one the same way.  for a medium/heavy lane condition.  i throw out mostly and like the strong snap/arc at the end.  which ball would work best for me? thanks for ur help

Pick the vapor zone i love the vapor zone, i am one of the few people that did not like the one ball at all. The one is very sensitive if drilled wrong, were the vapor zone is more driller friendly and works on about any lane condition.

My vapor zone is drilled pin over ring finger and mb below thumb ball rolls on oil and mediums like a champ. For me the One was over/under huge and hit like crap about 90 percent of the time.

One is very similar concept to the Strike Zone.  A strong asssymetric solid with a coverstock that is not reactive and not particle but sort of like a particle(doesn't say that but I threw).  Too similar.

The vapor is a pearl version of the Strike Zone.  It is next down from the great strike zone.

Sort of like the Ultimate inferno ...absolute inferno...this is the same step down but it is in their Assymetric line.

For me the Strike Zone was one heck of a strong ball.  No matter how much oil was out there this ball was way to strong for the condition (drilled pin over bridge, PSA in strong)

I just finished laying out my The One (similar to layout 2E on Brunswick drill sheets)  This ball has more backend than the strike zone I have, but the Strike Zone is beyond any doubt the stronger ball.

The One gets great length, while the Strike Zone read VERY early and started hooking, The One reacts off the dry strongly.

I have never thrown the Vapor, but if you are looking for a step down, I'd probably go with the Vapor Zone if you want a earlier rolling ball (as already mentioned).  The One probably won't be much weaker depending on the drill and cover prep, but it will definitely be longer and give a different look than either the Vapor or the Strike Zone.

The One VERY vaguely reminds of a "smokin inferno like" reaction only much smoother.
