Did you know the wizard is a remake of the nemesis?
« on: September 13, 2006, 04:59:06 PM »
I've read sooooo many topics about this its crazy.

The nemesis replaced the bruiser, the bruiser replaced the smash/r, the smash/r replaced the.....you get the idea.

I, for one, am happy bwick keeps this reaction in the lineup.  If I needed a ball that was going to be somewhat aggressive, predictable and durable, the wizard is the first ball I'd buy.

This is probably why brunswick decided to bring out the Wizard which is pretty close to the Nemesis. Brunswick saw they had something with that ball and decided to keep it in the line up, great move I think. Im close to getting one just to see how this ball would match up with me, ive used a nemesis but it was not fitted for me and the Pin was basically on my PAP, not a great thing to have.

Pin in the center of the palm, CG 45* down and right with the MB in the same line as the CG and Pin. I guess this layout create a really smooth hard arch thats controlable. I have a ball with this layout on it but Ive never use it as the span is nearly 1" too short.

Sorry forgot to add, If you have a high track this layout will not work for you as you will track the holes. Normally that is the case. I have a lower track so I have this layout on two balls. On both I track almost by the holes.

Normally not the case.  The low weighhole lowers the bowtie of the flare so that you don't track over the holes even for high track players.  I use to have very high track (slightly lower now) and used this layout in several balls.  Just make sure that you are going 3" with the bit to hit the core.

Obviously they just retired the Nemesis and came out with the Wizard to sell more balls.

Regardless of what people say, a lot of people buy balls based on looks.  I personally bought the Nemesis because a) it was a good price, and b) I really liked the orange color!  I know a lot of people don't care for the orange - I've heard people say "I'd buy that ball if it wasn't orange!"

So, yes both are great balls.  I was thinking about getting another Nemesis to try and different drilling, but now I can just get a Wizard and not have to worry about getting them confused.

The Wizard replace the Nemesis because it had been out for awhile and Brunswick felt the colors of the Nemesis were "tired".  They did also see the need for the Nemesis/Wizard reaction in their BVP line, hense the refreshing instead of deleting.

The Nemesis/Wizard are completely different than the Smash/R or the Bruiser, which are different from each other.  There really shouldn't be seen any link between those.  AAhhhhh, Bbbrrruuuiiissssser!  The Precioussssss!!!

Not to sound like an as$hole, but you know the Nemesis was not orange?  The nemesis is a very dark grey with blue writing...the orange BVP was the Rampage.

Look again....

The ball your thinking of is the goliath. Even then that one is dark blue.

Well, sorta.  I "numbers" were very similar between all the balls.  PK 18, low to med rg, med diff.  The same reaction could be had with any of them IMO.
