filling a gap in my arsenal! w/pics!
« on: January 03, 2006, 12:55:51 PM »
Hi guys,

Can the absolute inferno fill up the gap in my aresenal?

Hawg - Heavy oil http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/dev86/Bowling/DSC00055.jpg Dull the ball to 600 grit already.

Absolute inferno - Med heavy oil (getting this for carrydown and something not so snappy)

Silver Streak Pearl - Med oil http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/dev86/Bowling/ssp2.jpg monster backend, need something more smoothing.

Wired - Med - Light oil http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/dev86/Bowling/wired1.jpg this hook the least, not sure why.

Spare Ball - Dry and Spares. A old white dot. haha.

Can anyone recommend any drillings for my new absolute? I'm a stroker, med revs med speed. Usually play on med oiled synthetics.

=) thanks!

heres some help...
if you are getting the absolute for MED-HEAVY.
make sure you only use it on this condition.
dont expect it to be a medium oil benchmarker or anything.
the absolute inferno that i have is great, very smooth off the break.

i got it used (same span!) and got it regripped.
apparently the guy was trying to use the ball on conditions it wasnt meant for.
so there was heavy polish on it.
so i used a green scotch brite pad and smoothed it all over and used 3M Rubbing Compound to give it slightly more length than 600 grit dull finish.

anyway, the ball breaks off of the late midlane and hard arcs to the pocket.
biggest footprint through the pocket ive ever seen.

check out the link in my profile for the layout.
great ball as long as its used on heavier oil patterns.

hope this helps!

Surface Adjustment are always a factor if a ball isn't doing what you don't want it to do

when you start throwing mounds of polish on a 220 grit rough buff finish to keep it on the right side of the pocket, you obviously are trying to use the ball on a condition for which it is not intended.

I intend to get this baby as the first ball outta the bag.

Because the rest of my arsenal, especially the SSP and Hawg gives me a terrible backend on conditions that I bowl. Sometimes could be inconsistent and unpredictable.

I believe, after seeing a lot of people using it, it could be a good and consistent ball if the drilling is right.

I really wouldn't recommend the ball I understand it's the Activator + coverstock and everything but a particle pearl like the BVP Ambush or XCeption 5.0 would fit best for what you're looking for talk to tekneek he helps me online on this website he can answer any questions that you have. Take Care.

I prefer reactive balls as I experienced lots of particle death. don't wish to buy another particle ball. thanks anyway.

Looking for a smooth controllable reactive ball that maintains power through the carry down?  Roto Grip RS-X.

thanks. but it's rather hard to find a RS-X here. furthermore, i'm bidding on the absolute now. rather cheap.
