Title: Anyone try the new Red Power Groove Proactive?
Post by: DP3 on June 01, 2003, 11:26:46 PM
It has the cover from the Quantum Navy on it.  Just factory polished really high.  I was just wondering if anyone has tried it and how is it reaction wise.  Guys with my speed and rev-rate don't need very dynamic cores, just stuff with very high rg's so I was interested in getting one, just wanted to hear a little feedback first.

I saw a Plum Pearl Proactive. Didn't see any red one on B'wick's website.

Is this the one you mean??

I wrote a review for it in a local bowling magazine.

This ball isn't seen anywhere else in the brunswick line up right now, a pearl particle, and they haven't had one since the riot zone or shock zone. our tester had the exact same colors as a command zone too. You could put a fuze logo on this ball and say it is a move between the purple fuze and original red fuze.
These were my points of note for the ball:
Good coverstock for med oils, and some light drys.
ball is good for lighter patterns when you have problems with over under. the particle smooths out the reaction very well.

my best suggestion for this ball is to drill it for med length but scuff the ball with a green scotchbrite pad. the factory polish makes it a bit over under like most balls.

Also in your profile you mention you liked the attitude 3, the new gold and blue power groove is very similar in reaction to the attitude 3( from our testing, with a bowler familiar with both balls)
Check them both out.
