need inferno advice!!
« on: February 26, 2005, 12:16:52 PM »
hello fellow brunswick brothers!!!  im relatively new to the bowling world, but i luv the game!!  i've been bowling for about 8 months now and my first ball was the Ultimate Inferno!!(208.6 league avg)  Luv iT!!!   however, i've noticed that i cant just keep that and my spare ball in my bag.  so, im aking you all for some advice on a ball that will compliment my aresenal for drier lane conditions.  i bowl on firday nights when the lanes are freshly oiled(cheetah pattern), but ive been traveling a lil lately and ive found that the Ultimate is not the right match for broken down lane conditions!!!(hooks TOO much)  so, lemme know what ya all think i should do...  also, how i should drill it??  Ive been leanin' toward the Absolute!!!!  Happy Bowling guys!!!

Absolute will still be too much ball.  Get a bruiser or a classic zone.  Classic is really versatile, and the bruiser is real smooth, plus since it's being discontinued, you will be able to find them cheaper.  Same with the original inferno, which would be a good choice.

Well, would you like it arc, or to snap hard?

Well just to be safe, since your new to layouts and such, i'd just put the pin over the ring.  This is a good layout for some length and pop, especially if you have some revs like you say.  I'd go with an exotic layout but since you haven't tried out weird layouts, it's better to stay with what's safe.

If you're really a "snap-type" guy, you might also want to look at the BVP Nemesis.  With the cover taken up to 1500 or so, this ball can play drier mediums with the best of them.

Really hard to say without knowing how you bowl, but a good compliment would usually be a Punisher to keep you prepared for more conditions. There is generally a large gap in reactions between this ball and the Ultimate. Then if you decide to begin building an arsenal as you go, you can fill in the blanks.
