Title: Ball Choice?
Post by: captzap on February 28, 2008, 03:09:21 AM
I have an opportunity to buy NIB either a Ultra Zone or Twisted Fury at a very good price. The Twisted costs about $10 more. Being a speed dominate player with revs of about 200 which might be a better choice? My best two balls of late have been the Blast Zone and Red Zone.

Thanks, CaptZap

I really like the ultra zone but looking at the two balls you have, i would suggest the twisted. a strong pearl would go great with the solid red zone, and early rolling blast zone. By putting the ultra in there you might have some overlap depending on how your stuff is drilled. Both are great balls though.

Speed dominant? Go with the Ultra. The cover will read the lane earlier than the Twisted and the core should be easier to rev up, too. You can probably do well with either one if you adjusted the surface on the Twisted, but the surface of the Ultra is also easily adjusted.

ultra should start earlier. I threw a twisted last night and didn't start moving till the lanes were about fried, shot a 264 with it could have had a 300 but had an 8 open. Its a good ball but its not that strong on a house shot. Probably be money on a PBA shot.
