Urethane or plastic.

Wait a minute.  Are you saying the VZ is doing nothing on the lanes or for you on the lanes?

I can't even imagine a Vapor not hooking.  Do you have any other reactive ball that hooks for you?  Are you throwing pretty hard?  How many games on your Vapor?  After 60-80 games it may be time for the Rejuvenator and resurfacing.

I'm just wondering if the Vapor isn't hooking, if you really want something weaker...

The VZ is not made for dry lanes its burning up therefore no hook , you have to have correct ball and cover finish for the lane condition you are bowling on, the VZ needs some oil especially up front

I also wonder that the VZ does not move at all - even though it is a strong piece and needs head oil to work properly. For a dry lane ball, the Power Groove Dry/R is a very good choice, a smooth and weak reactive with good flare. The upcoming (and delayed) Avalanche Pearl will be a slightly stronger option, as well as the classic PK17 pearl Power Grooves with a (very) weak drilling. If you can get one, a Dry Zone (overseas, Activator pearl with Purple Peral Fuze low flare core) might also be an option, but this one will need light head oil, too. It is a great choice for very short patterns or high ball speeds on lighter conditions.
