Why do people laugh at the Power Groove?
« on: October 07, 2005, 02:47:53 AM »
Granted, it's not an Inferno or a BVP, but I have the chrome/yellow (looks more like a Tiger's Eye) and I love it.  I read these boards, and while there are a few who really like this ball, most laugh at it.

Why is that, generally?  For a mid-ranged priced ball, I think it's pretty solid!

"For a mid-priced ball"??

It is most definitely not mid-priced; it is cheap.

Between the Dry/R, the regular Pearl, the Solid and the Black dull Particle, you have the one of the world's cheapest, most well-rounded, all-purpose arsenals that it is possible to put together, from a single manufacturer.

Power Groove series is one of the very best series put together - irregardless of price!!!
It is suitable for beginners as well as advanced players.
There is nothing WEAK about power grooves except the profit margins - they are all about CONTROL and HIT!!!

Why don't we see more of them?

OT...I stand corrected!

quote:
ir·re·gard·less    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (r-gärdls)
adv. Nonstandard
Regardless.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Probably blend of irrespective, and regardless.]
Usage Note: Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir- prefix and -less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.

ummmm, nice balls.

I've shot big sets with a solid reactive Tornado from Ebonite and also a bunch of sweet sets and games with my Dynamic Groove.

Unfortunately due to high rg nature of all these similar balls with the pancake and puck configuration I have found all of them to be allergic to oil at the breakpoint.

But if they can find dry near 35 feet baby they can move and hit with the best.
At one place I bowled they said the shot was 43 feet but baby at about 37 feet that sucker would crand back from the inside and hit.

I have a 299 with a 16 pound Dynamic Groove.

I now own a yellow power groove sitting beautifully in a box waiting for my attention and drill bit!
