Best ball under the Original Inferno
« on: November 26, 2006, 03:25:40 AM »
Which ball would best fit just under the OI?  Would it be the Rampage or the Punisher?

Thanks.

I'd also cut it down to the Punisher and Rampage. If you face drier conditions with a clean back end, the Punisher is the choice. If you need it for late games on a medium volume or some carrydown, the Rampage with its more aggressive (=earlier erading) PK18 coverstock is IMHO the better choice. It would also be the more versatile choice, just too much if you face scorched lanes and short oil.

IME, neither.  I'd opt for a polished Wizard instead, the reason being that while it would be just about as clean in front as a Rampage or Punisher, it would have a more defined move than the Punisher without being quite as strong at the break as the Rampage.

I disagree.  I have a polished Nemesis (same as Wizard) and there is no way I would place it under my Original Inferno.  Unless you have quite a bit of surface on the Inferno and a high gloss on the Wizard, the Wizard will, in my opinion, be more ball than the Inferno.

I have a polished Nemesis as well, and I'm using it in exactly the spot in the arsenal that the original poster was looking to fill.  My polished Nemesis (drilled 4L) is three to five weaker than the original Inferno, is a *lot* straighter in front, and is smoother at the break.  It fits perfectly between the Inferno and my Power Groove Dry/R.

As they say, your mileage may vary.

I think many would agree when I say the best ball under the Original Inferno is another weaker drilled Original Inferno.
