ultra vs twisted
« on: June 27, 2008, 03:49:45 AM »
I am sure this question has been asked before. but im guessing the twisted fury gets a little more length than the ultra? i know the twisted has the EN motion pearl and the ultra has a solid/pearl hybrid.

I am deciding making some changes to my aresinal. I have an ultra pin up 5 from my pap mb next to my thumb cg in line between them. It is smooth and archy and I was wondering what the twisted would compate to that. From what i have seen they are both get through the heads clean and seem to have a good midlane roll. thanks for the help

The Twisted will react quicker off of the dry than the Ultra. I have two drilled close to the same and this is what I find. The Twisted has a sharper breakpoint for sure.

Thanks. Well now based off that would it be better to drill an ultra or total pin down? Something to smooth out the breakpoint.
I was just a little worried to drill the ultra pin down bc its a hybrid. I know the cover is better than the low load particle/pearl of the sidewinder, but if I drill it pin 5.25 from pap under the middle if it would just die out or anything like that.

FWIW, My Ultra is pin down and it hasn't even thought about quitting. The enmotion hybrid is still pretty clean through the heads for me. It just allows me to cover more boards than my Twisted, and in a different way.

I play straighter lines with the Twisted, while the Ultra seems to work better for me if I play a swing shot.  I guess if the conditions you see are on the dry side you may try pin above, but only you can make that call. Good luck.

I must say I drilled a twisted same pin just put the MB on the negative side of the thumb the ultra responds at the end of the pattern and the twisted goes for days even with my rev rate

My ultra is drilled pin up with the PSA very close to the thumb, pretty smooth off the spot and a rolly midlane read.
