Blast Zone Video -- Should I?
« on: July 01, 2007, 10:59:14 AM »
Well, I have a couple of Blast Zones here...

Was possibly considering filming some footage tonight, but was interested in some feedback on what everyone would like to see. I have one drilled Rico, the other 5" over bridge.

I can play with surfaces, maybe showcase the Secret Sauce.

Who wants what?!

Make the video. I'd like to see the Rico drill with OOB surface as well as about 4000 abralon.

I threw mine for the first time yesterday and really like it. Mine is drilled pin below fingers (middle) and the locator pin about 45 degrees. Ball rolled very smooth and strong. The shot was a little on the slick side, but the ball still performed with the factory finish. I may try it tomorrow night on the Scorpion pattern...

Nick,

What about the two balls both with surface changes vs. box.  Try something different.  Polish the Rico and dull the pin up...Show the versatility of the ball...

Maybe show the blast zone vs the O.I. or the Impulse zone. These two are pretty staple of the line balls.

Besides,  I have those two and have been eyeing the sidewinder and the blast zone, just need more info before making the choice of what to buy for next years bag.

Secret Sauce vs Brunswick Polish and wrap it up with 4 minutes of paint drying.

Nick, i think that with the Blast Zone Being a hybrid Solid/Pearl coverstock maybe you should compare the Blast Zone with a Strike Zone which is a solid cover and a Zone Classic for a pearl cover. Then maybe we can see the characteristics of Both but whatever you decide i am sure it will be cool.

Good ideas from all, I love the paint drying idea... maybe I'll make a separate BR.com edition, complete with 4min of unadulterated paint-drying.

I have the setup for the vid, just drilled the balls, time to get out there and film!

Wouldn't be bad if you could make a comparison between the BZ at OOB with a Strike Zone, possibly identical drill, as well as with a Red Zone, maybe with a polished BZ? primarily, I'd also be interested in the ball's general reaction, but a benchmark with its predecessor would be nice.

Compare the Blast Zone to the Red Zone, show Krista throwing her Classic Zone, compare your Rico Blast to your Rico Classic, show Mr. 900 throwing the Grizz, top it off with the Rico Blast Zone compared to you Rico Inferno, then show a 3 minute slideshow of the man himself.....Ricoh. Have about 10 seconds of nothing, then throw in that old pic of Rob Law in his pink hat.

On a secondary video, show us the Diandra fashion show, I know you were invited.....

The comparison videos are really where it's at.  Rotogrip's got a few nice ones on their site showing the RS/SSSE line.  They line up with one ball, make a change to another ball, show why it won't work on that line and then how they had to move to get lined up again.  I think Brunswick's done that as well.
