good for whoever wants to pay 305+ bucks...i have the first resin hammer they ever put out...its got about 6 holes in it...i bet i could get some good money for that if i said they were the first holes ever drilled into a resin bowling ball.  some idiot would probably believe me.

I think there is like six of them drilled up with GIANT holes at my bowling center. RIGHT ON THE WALL!  It's a gold mine, everyone rush down and steal them so we can sell them on e-bay!!!
What a joke, you find an old UNDRILLED house ball and try to screw people out of money.  What's funny is that the person buying it probably has no idea what's going on, just figures they will buy it and re-list it for a higher price.

If you can't DODGE it, RAM IT!!

I'd put a witty bowling slogan on here, but I'm not that good yet...

Even funnier, is that it has had 7 bids so far, as of this moment, it's at $305, and don't forget the $32.50 for shipping!!  How can they justify that much for shipping?  It's a 60s house ball!!

It's a shame that somebody tried pulling a scam like that.  That's the problem with eBay these days.  A lot of bad sellers and not enough people to police it.  Good job on setting him straight.

$305.00 really isn't that bad for a new ball.  About 3 or 4 years ago I was bidding on a 15 lb used (aka plugged twice and drilled a third time) Gem-Tek rose ball.  I figured I would be able to pick it up for like $50.00 and use it as a spare ball.  The ball wound up selling for around $315.00.  You never know what people will bid for something.  I have a collection of 20 old balls that I have amassed, all undrilled, including a Shore-D, which I wouldn't part with for the world.  If I had a lot of money laying around I could see paying a lot for this ball.  The original plastic balls are few and far between, and someday, as long as bowling doesn't completely disappear, they just might be worth something.  And a lot of them are pretty neat looking to boot.

Guess they have the last laugh now... to be honest I don't know why some of you make a huge fuss over things like this and decide you need to stick your nose into business that has nothing to do with you.  If someone is stupid enough to paying 500 bucks for a discontinued ball that may be a colletors item more power to the seller.  I think it's retarded but I'm not gonna get my panties in a bunch and b***ch out the seller and contact Brunswick and Ebay, it's none of my business.  Leave it to the buyers to raise the question as to whether the item is legit and being sold legally.

Interestingly, only 4 people actually bid on the item.  The "winner" has sold items on Ebay, but never bought one.  She is also from the LA area and has no bowling items listed.  At least two of the other bidders have purchased collectable bowling item in the past - strikinghoot and johnjhawk.

Now if I was a cynic I'd say that they had two "real" bidders on the hook but they had not reached reserve price the day before.  So an accomplice "saucillolady" puts in a bid that takes it up over reserve -- only $5.00 higher.  strikinghoot and johnjhawk don't take the bait.  If you look at the "winners" listings, they have the same "feel" as yvdesertflo.  This guy also sells some strange stuff-- real estate investing, magic exposed, beating vegas, beating cancer...

Now, collecters I can understand getting carried away.  If you are a collector of anything, you know you have overpaid for that special something.  you also remember the times you came to your senses before buying at too high a price.

I wonder if this ball will show up again in the future.

The eBay pic link is still active.  Just to set the record straight, this ball is made with golden large size glitter particles that cover the entire weight block.  The glitter particles are large squares and are dense packed about 3/4 inch under the clear surface.  I have 2 of these.  Serial #'s FT023332 and IT11217.  I've been collecting bowling balls for many years and have about 400 in my collection representing all eras - including around 50 wooden balls from the turn of the century.  One gold ball appears much richer and brighter golden in color than the other, but it is not actually "gold".  The particles are probably made of mylar, as this technology existed around the early '60's - also used extensively in some mid-century modern lucite lamps from that period.  Somewhat hard to find, but not all that rare.  Heard one was made in a silver color, but have not been able to verify.  Amflite also produced a mylar glitter "Brilliant" series that actually is even more spectacular.  The Amflite contains larger square blue, blue-green, green, and gold glitter chunks all mixed together.  Sorry Mankow to outbid you on the rose Special GT, but I needed it for my collection.  To set the record straight - I believe I only paid around $120 for the ball.  It would have cost you significantly more to outbid me though.  Afriad I'm going to have to fight you for any rose ball under a hundred.  There are quite a few variations you see.
