tournament help

hey guys looking for some opinions and advice i am holding a scratch tourney feb 17 one squad only max entries of 96. We will be using the shark pattern to qualify 4 games skipping pairs. Finals shot will be the viper. Elminiator style finals down to top 4 and they are seeded by previous rd scores. Entry fee is 75 with first place paying 1500 and  first rd  exits paying between 150 and 200  is this a format that you as a tournameny bowler would be interested in. bowling  break down as follows 75 entry 60.00 prize fund 12.00 bowling 3.00 expenses. prize ratio 1-6 thanks for the input

i ran a tourney called the scratch classic 5 yrs ago  sam repass was a close friend of mine and a just before i ran the second tour he died of a heart attack so i named it in honor of him  i usuallt average 80 -88 entries but it was in a 8 lane center now i have 32 lanes to play with i like the size now i  dont have alot of problems with the bowlers  plus rather than get a inconstient shot everyone bowls on the same shot at same time

Sounds like it could be a great tournament. I live in Syracuse, close enough, but I only wound up with a 178 ave in the summer PBA league and I don't think I would be anything but a donater. But I think there alot of good shooters in the Syracuse area that would go to this if you handed out flyers here. One suggestion though, maybe don't hold it the same week that the kids are off of school. Alot of people go places that week.

Why change the shot for the finals? I'd keep it the same. You might get a lot of flack when all of a sudden the top guys get shut out?!

I agree with Corey. Keep the condition the same for the finals. Even though you are putting out the same pattern, it will play differently due to fewer players, fewer people in the center, etc.

As far as format, being a tournament bowler myself, I like to see a better payout ratio. I understand that you want to put more on top, but of you put $1000 for first, but pay 1 in 4 or 1 in 5, you will get more players in my opinion.

Just my humble opinion.

thanks for the input i will leave the pattern as the shark but in my rules i also state the i have the right to adjust the the prize fund according to entries and finals as i never put a guarntee on the top i see that it only gets you into trouble so if i get 80 i still will take 16 to finals and adjust pay out thanks alot guys
