Anyone know how Diandra''s 3.5 was drilled on today''s show?
« on: February 21, 2010, 07:52:09 AM »
I''m curious how she got that ball NOT to flip.
(Maybe she used more than one??)

Was it just her release, the amount of oil or the drilling or a combination of all three?

She played it like a house shot, over 15 out to 10 at the breakpoint with tiny adjustments all day. Many compliments and kudos to her performance, of course. Even more so, as the team changed from lane to lane FOUR times!! and to Brian.
What competitors!!
(Beat if she missed the split, he would not have missed the 10 pin. Very unlike him.)

5" pin below the fingers, with a low hole. looked like a weaker MB.

Yeah, I was more amazed at the carry she was getting all show long. The ball didn't like it up in terms of ball motion, but man did it carry light or high. That show sold a few 3.5's that's for sure.

If you remember 2 weeks ago, that was almost precisely Kelly Kulick's reaction with the Mission. But that reaction with a 3.5 surprises me more, because I own a 2.5 know how hard that ball flips. The 3.5 is supposed to flip harder.

I figure it's partially layout which I don't know for sure and also partially the way she uses finger/hand positions and arm swing.  Seems like from what I've seen from her before....she can get a ball to roll easier than most as her arm swing and follow thru have no over turn or around the side.  Bet her tilt and axis rotation are lower than just about anyone.  All ball and not from her release.  Just ab observation from an uneducated eye. The sheen look with shine on her ball also looked great for the lane condition.

Brian Voss's is much like Asbaty's.  They had the right equipment, right ball speed and the right technique better than the rest.  Good to see non-crankers win.

You really have to believe in your technqiue not to help the ball towards the pocket.

I don't mean the line she played, I mean specifically the carry she had. The majority of those shots should of left the 4/9, but except for maybe 3 bad leaves everything struck.
