Adjusting Nemesis surface
« on: October 06, 2005, 12:35:08 AM »
So, I've had my Nemesis for a while now, and it's not been terribly useful. Maybe 2 or 3 league nights out of 30 it's been usable, most of the rest it's been burning up, with the occasional hey-some-oil-woops-no-backend night. I was thinking of adjusting the surface a little, and maybe sticking some polish on it, but not really sure what to try. Anyone done anything similar?

Polish advice questions there are way too many of them on here.  Its Pk18 one of if not the most versatile covers.  Try your fav. polish they all work some people just have preferences.  If you don't like it polished lightly sand it back off, tyr another polish.  What works for one may not work for another, just experiment thats all you have to do.

I hit mine with polish - it did what I wanted too well. so I then hit it with scotch brite (green) - it's closer to what I want now.

Out of box surface is WAAAAYYYY too strong around here.

I have my Rico drilled Nemesis at an extremely high gloss with Ebonite Extender polish.  The reaction is wonderful, and still super smooth, just alot more continuation on the backend than it was in box finish.

400 smooth followed by Brunswick High Gloss polish works great for me with the Nemesis.

Went 400 grit then, er, I don't remember what. Ebonite polish of some sort, I gave it to the pro shop guy just before league and got it back about midway through the first game. Didn't give it much of a try that night, but last night it was pretty impressive. Oil was pretty much gone by the end of the second game, went front 7, 8 pin, 10 pin, some yuck to finish. Got my Nemesis out for the third, X open XXXXXXX9/X  for my highest game since I started bowling again Very smooth on the dry outside, retained a lot of energy and blew the bejeebus out of the pins.
