Title: Brunswick Fury
Post by: brunswickcomplete on January 12, 2007, 08:24:22 AM
just got the promo package for big b's new ball, the Fury
black, red and purple coverstock, and a torsion core weightblock,
they are sending out tapes and cd's of it, sounds phantomish, and a weight block for display, same hook potential as the mammoth , but with a tweaked octane cover, sounds interesting

Ever hear of polish? It's an amazing thing ya know.

The Mammoth rolls completly different than anything in your 30+ balls you have... so you might want to look into it.

Just something to think about..

That is the beauty of it Ric. I appreciate the ball companies encouraging the bowler to experiment with the covers. Shine, dull, sand, etc. The bowler decides what works for the lane conditions. OOB is not always the best. I plan on buying a spinner and tweak a few...

B802, this is the new Fury line that will eventually replace the Inferno line as we introduce more as time goes on.

Yes, reactive resin, as are all performance balls these days. Even particle balls are reactive resin, they just have some form of particle additives in them.

More info to come....

By the way, how bout we all lose the hateful posts on one another here in the Brunswick section. Leave that trash for the other companies. I once heard we were a Nation here............The BRUNSWICK Nation.

I believe you mean the BRUNSWICK nation . I can't wait for this new Fury line,  didn't get a chance to get into the Infernos until now (I have a PBA Red/Black Inferno, love the reaction, a lot different than I'm used to).

Yeah the Mammoth polished is a totally different beast. Gets more length and a little bit more angular in backend, which is very nice when playing down and in or swinging the ball. I love the reaction.

Now with this new Octane Coverstock, most likely you will be sanding or polishing the ball. Just as many had to do on their Rads, I would do surface adjustments to the new ball.

Oh that part.. didn't know you were talking about that.

He made a smart comment about the Fury hooking as much as the Mammoth and said he'd wait for the zone ball.

So, I saw he had 30 balls and looked to see what they were.

And I asked if had ever heard of polish.. since a Polished Mammoth would roll different than any other ball in his 30+ arsenal.

He was basing the hook rating as if it would hook to much for his hand.. but really it wouldn't at all if it was polished.

Like Ric said.. covers are changeable. The hook rating doesn't mean anything.. since my polished Mammoth on a ths is less than my Classic Zone.

It's all about where it hook.. and this guy was being an ass, by saying it was too much (not directly).. and made a negative comment about the new ball without hearing anything about it.

You know what, I had some big long post, but i'm not going to further destroy this thread, i'll leave that to you since it's what your good at...

I will say one thing though...You are a joke, an absolute and complete joke. Every time you open your mouth you further prove what Bowling 900 300 has said about you in this thread. (Seriously do you even read what you type!?)

Get off your high horse, your not as smart as you think you are...

I'll apologize for this post, I try to avoid making posts like this on here, but i'm about as pissed as i've been in a long time and had to say something.

EDIT: How the hell was I being an "ass" as you put it in my first? This explanation I gotta hear!

Sounds like yet another hook in the box that needs a flood to get down the lane. Probably would have to lay this one out with a pin to pap of about 8". I can't understand how the conditioners are becoming lower viscocity but yet ball manufacturers keep making hook monsters. I guess soon it will only take half of a game for the lanes to break down to move me to inside of 20. Thank god for urethane. Guess I will be twistin' up the Black Knight for years to come.

Viva La Nacion de Brunswick!

Looking forward to the new Fury next month or so. On the surface adjustment subject, the Total OOB for me did not match up well for me and my wall (220 rough buff), so I brought the surface 500 Abralon and tried again. Was better for my game but still "burned up" faster than needed. Reapplied a coat of Rough buff, leaning on it a pinch harder to get shine and 20 games later it is an awesome ball. I have sold many a Total's through the shop/friends and so far everyone is satisfied. As Ric said, do not me afraid to adjust the cover.

Post by: BrunsNick on January 16, 2007, 03:57:14 PM
My Promo pack came, but no pics whatsoever. Not of the core, or the ball itself. Here are some tidbits:

Black/Red/Purple Solid High Octane @ 800 Grit Sand
Core Dynamics @ 16#
RG-max: 2.515
RG-min: 2.471
RG-diff:0.044

Hook Potential: 165
Length: 45
Breakpoint Shape: 75

The TORSION CORE is a new core shape concept that involves applying a computerized torsion or twisting process to high-tech shapes. Brunswick testing has shown that the Torsion core should quickly become known for its high hook potential, easy revving and powerful, but controllable breakpoints. The first Torsion core is a symmetric version that requires no unique drilling techniques.

This core is symmetric, I believe the rumor is that a future Fury might have an asymmetric core though.

This is from the description on the Raging Red Fuze -

quote:
The Raging Red Fuze features a core with 4-Sided Symmetry to help lock the core in place. While Asymmetric in
appearance, the Raging Red Fuze core design is dynamically symmetric and behaves like a traditional symmetric
core design. Thus, even though it is 4-sided, the Raging Red Fuze can be drilled using the included techniques
developed for symmetric core balls.

Similar idea with the Fury core, just 3 sides with a twist.
