I'm looking to get a new ball, but want it to be different then my current Brunswick Mastermind Intellect. At times the Intellect in my house seems to struggle in the early games with little room for error. Thinking of possibly trying the DV8 Grudge for these early games then switch to my Intellect. Would this be a good option or are these balls too similar? Or any other options or feedback is welcome.

The Grudge will give u Lil more length and more overall hook

Neither house that I bowl in ever put enough oil out for me to even use my Intellect on fresh oil in league. What surface is yours at?

For me, in box finish, the Grudge is earlier and smoother than the Intellect. With the box shine on it, my Intellect goes crazy on the back end. I also think the Grudge handles more volume and is better suited to tougher patterns, again, when both are at box finish.

Thanks for the responses. I just had the ball refinished to out of box a few weeks ago.

My grudge is out of box but pin is also over the middle finger,so with mine is see more length and backend
-
I would agree, my Grudge is drilled pin up above fingers with cg kicked less that 1/2 inch and it also has more length and backend.

Thanks for the information. With the Ultimate Nirvana coming out I may wait a week or so and decide between the Grudge and Ultimate Nirvana. Looking at the specs it seems the Grudge will have a tad bit more hook, but balls should be pretty similar in my opinion.

The Grudge will be earlier, not necessarily more hook.

If you are looking for a heavy oil ball, get the Grudge.
I am uncertain how the Ultimate Nirvana would compare to the Intellect. I am sure they will be a closer comparison than the Grudge / Intellect.

The Grudge is quite a bit more hook, it should give you more area when the lanes are fresh.

Well decided to get the Ultimate Nirvana. I can say for me it does go longer and seems to be cleaner through the heads than my Intellect and the Backend is more aggressive, but still an arc not a snap. I have the Ultimate drilled @ 12 O'clock, where as the Intellect is drilled just outside the ring finger. For me this ball seems to hook 3-4 boards more and carries more energy to the pocket. Thanks for all the advice.
