Punisher or Rampage
« on: January 05, 2006, 11:07:32 PM »
Hiya
Looking for a ball to fill a hole in my arsenal for medium dry to dry lanes. My current set up is:
Ultimate Inferno
Impulse Zone
Intense Infeno
Monster Bruiser
Messenger TEC (Columbia)
Cure Pearl (DynoThane)
Target Zone

Hoping for something to fit in between the Bruiser and the Cure (the messenger is just there to get me out of trouble) and am looking at the rampage and the punisher. The rampage looks nice but I fear it may be too similar to the bruiser. How is it on the dryer lanes. Any ideas?

Well, the Rampage has a higher RG and is PK18 pearl, it will go a touch longer and snap later. But it is, after all, PK18 which is pretty aggressive. If you are looking for a medium-dry condition ball, then the Punisher is the better option IMHO. Rampage is more medium and closer to the Bruiser (with its solid PK18 shell).

An additional option could be a Power Groove pearl or a solid one (Purple-Teal sanded), if you can still find one, shined up. The Power Groove Proactive Plum Pearl is also a nice option for this condition, but gone since 2 years and probably hard to find.
All these balls are are also good for medium-dry conditions and less nervous than the Punisher. Especially a shined solid PG should be close to the Rampage, but easier to control and closer to the lane reaction of your Bruiser.

If you are looking for the true dry lane ball...go with the punisher. The Rampage is much too strong for dry lanes...it is much too strong on the back to be used for dry lanes for me.
