Title: Brunswick quality control??
Post by: raiderh20boy on January 23, 2007, 05:07:58 AM
Has anyone noticed a major color change in the Rampage recently?
I got 2 recently in my shop and both have colors not even close to the original.

Maybe it's a special edition?  You should keep both of them and auction them off as "RARE."

Got any pictures to share with the rest of us?

I hear the color differences are due to the new casting machines.

Actually the 2 balls that I've got are both more of a burgandy/maroon and a gold like a dull Rhino Pro gold more of a greenish gold and NO orange at all!!

Wonder why no one talk about the Hammer Quality Control, I found a lot of Black Widow with a lot more RED in it lately.  Did Ebonite/Hammer moved to Mexico too?

I believe that Mo Pinel has even requested that Brunswick dial down some of his coverstock formulations because they were stronger than expected coming out of the new plant.

My original post was not ment as a bash. Unfortunately, fortunately, some of my customers purchase by looks {eye appeal}. I had a customer that just had to have the Rampage in a 14 lb ball. I don't stock every weight of every ball but can get orders from my supplier the next day if ordered by a certain time. Well, 2 ball, 2 shipping costs to me, and back to my supplier, no sale!! There goes my profit and now I'm out $14.Needless to say, no more Rampage on display. Storm Fired Up not quite the same but consistant color anyway.

Raider,

We had a batch of Rampages where the gold came out with more of a greenish tint to it. It had nothing to do with the move in production. Those performed just as well as the others. I personally liked the look of those a little better. I actually had a few shops call me looking for the off-color ones.
