First night with the Fury
« on: March 22, 2007, 07:13:22 AM »
Tried the Fury last night in my league. Ball is drilled with the pin just to the side of the ring finger, and the cg towards the right of my palm. Looks similar to a label leverage drill. Not sure if the ball is box surface or not, bought it from a member here. Ball rolls very well, and although I did leave a couple of flat tens, it was more operator error then the fault of the ball. Carried almost everything, from light to trip fours. Much more angular than I thought it would be. Definitely a ball I can feed from heavy oil out to the dry on the THS. 235-228-255 718 is a good start for any ball first time out.

Used it today in a no tap tournament playing the second shift.  It was a house shot mainly out there that was pretty oily.  By the time I was up there was noticeable carry down.

My Vapor Zone wasn't able to play too well inside my comfort zone as it would skid to the breakpoint but have trouble in the backend because of the carry down.  The Fury on the other hand didn't care at all about the oil carried down.  It reacted just like I wanted my oil ball to.  It got through the heads clean, started to straighten out and make a move midlane and then smash the pocket on the finish.

It still hasn't rolled out on me yet or burned up. I had two shots that were outside by quite a bit.  One of them actually made it back for a 9-strike.  The other one just couldn't but it didn't quit.  It came back as much as you could expect and still left a respectable pin fall.

Still no problem with 10 pins as some have reported.  But I'm able to get good angle.  It left an 8 on a solid pocket hit.  It's happens.

Because the midlane was lacking a little oil and there was a lot of carrydown, it could get a little touchy in the midlane.  But if you made sure not to pull it inside, it was OK.  It was the kind of THS that wasn't so forgiving to pulled shots.  That is, your ball wouldn't just skid into the pocket.  But if you gave it some room to work outside, it would find its way back and didn't care at all if there was carry down.

Great ball and was very usable today.  Lots of carry down made my Vapor Zone skid too far before it could really snap back.  The Fury just rolled like carry down didn't exist.
