Just found out that Brunswick has lost there licencing for the Character plastic balls like Scooby, Tweety, and Taz. I had 2 on back order with my distributor now and cannot get them. There was no notice on this which I am upset about. Now I had to order some Maxims because they wont even be making any more plastic balls until after the end of January due to the operation move. Do you think this was right of Brunswick?????

I knew about the licensing sometime early summer, so if you're just finding out now, you need to have some talks with your distributor. As far as the plastic ball situation, its not great, but as a shop owner, you need to be prepared. Brunswick stepped up in October and offered amazing deals on Power Grooves to make up for the fact that they'd be short on T. Zones and Viz. Knowing this information months in advance, we brought in some Maxims, and stocked up on Power Grooves. As a result, our December is $3k higher than last year, and we still have a week of sales!

Brunsnick, I think the real problem here is like you said I had no idea about this. And you are right I should have a talk with my distributor. I have a part time shop and do not generate that much business due to the fact of the area that I am in. So its hard for me to keep alot of inventory in stock at one time, I generaly only keep anywhere from 8 to 10 balls in stock at one time including high performance. With the area I am in and the amount of bowlers we have at the center I am at I will always be about a $30,000 a year shop.

We did the same thing after hearing of the TZ shortage and got a boat load of Power Grooves and did Holiday specials on them. Sold a ton so far and for those who wanted plastic was able to get Maxim's and White Dots for them without hassle. We even have a few people who are holding off until the TZ's are available again (color scheme). Brunswick was up front with us and we took advantage of the situation through Big B and our distributors.
