won an ultra zone on ebay
« on: October 30, 2009, 03:15:34 AM »
need to know a few things. First not a huge fan of brunswick! I had one ball of theres last year that i liked alot it was the red zone drilled pin 5 and a half from pap and mb inch righ of my thumb. I was thining about drilling this one the same but I need some one who has thrown both or seen both thrown to tell me what i should expect. Like i said I have had quite a few brunswicks not work and the red zone was a winner for me, so I decided to shoot from the hip with the ultra and now i am questioning my decision. So please give me your opinions about the two balls.

The Red Zone was a polished solid (Activator) cover ball that was great for most conditions. For me it was best playing straighter lines to the pocket.

The Ultra Zone is a solid/pearl hybrid cover with a very strong core. Easy through the heads, but a pretty big move late compared to the solids, yet more controlled than many pearls.

Put your favorite layout on it and watch it hit. A few customers have knocked the "gloss" off it to even out reaction even more, but the vast majority like a little shine on theirs. Good luck.

Did the same thing almost. I had never tried Brunswick, but got a steal on an Ultra Zone off of ebay. I had great luck with it in the PBAX league last summer. Clean through the front, great read, and a reliable consistent move. You always know what it's going to do. Don't worry. It's a good piece.

my ultra zone was highly polished most of the time and as a result had a great skid/snap reaction on a medium lane condition. when i used it smooth sanded( 4,000 abralon ) the balls roll was more even but just as strong.
