Title: Choked again in City Tourney

Bowled in doubles and singles Saturday with my father in law.  I drilled up a Zone classic (violet) for the occasion and brought my Ambush which is sanded to 320.  I didn't want to bring to many other balls just because hate bringing more than 3.  So we bowled on the last pair in the house by ourselves so in warm up had a good look with the ZC and had a a little earlier roll out of the ambush.  So basically had one shiny and one ball dull played about the same line.(KISS)

Singles shot 239-258-199 I choked in tenth I needed to strike out for my first 700 of the year. (ZC all three games)

So one guy next to us bangs out 758 and another guy a couple of pairs down shot 740 so the shot was there to score.  I wasn't to mad but I still choked, on to doubles

Doubles shot 224-221-299 I change balls to the Ambush the third game because I felt the ZC wasn't reading then lane soon enough good decision on my part.  Last ball in the tenth I left off on my speed so the ball came up high trickling everything but the 4 pin.  Hey I finally shot 700 this year though!

All the balls from the BVP that I have drilled have been great out of the box except the ambush.  I dulled it man now that ball reads the lane and carries like a monster.  Just goes to show you that one dull and one shiny can make things easier.

That's great shooting RC, even though you called it a choke, if I bowled in a tourney I think I'd be pretty happy with those scores.

Well it is somewhat of a joke between me and a few of my pals.  I usually have one good set in the city tournament the blow it.  I bowled well but a bunch of other did also I beleive a few 800's were shot.  I'll find out if I placed anywhere today I hope.

The ZC was out of the box condition so when the oil carried down just made it easier to change to a duller surface. I found out my partner and I finished 5th in doubles not to shabby for not really planning to bowl.  Thanks to all that read and posted.

Rc --- where are you located at? I just shot city this weekend and one of my partners shot 758. Maybe same tourney?

I was supposed to do that Tournament myself but never sent in the paperwork. Im pretty sure its that tournament. It was out in Rockford.

I know a guy that has had a lot more luck sanding his Ambush too.  It's just a ridiculously incredible ball.  Need a Rampage . .

I have been thinking of getting one, alot of the guys around here make them look sweet.  The BVP line you can't go wrong I just don't know where the ball would fit in my line up.
