I posted almost 2 months ago how I felt the Time Zone was essentially the Revolution ECX. I was correct according to a few of the people working the Brunswick stand at a trade show today. I said "So basically they put the Zone name on the ball because they know it will sell that way?" and the gentleman said "SSSHHHHH-yep".

Yeah, I'm still punching one up! Talked to Rick Benoit the other day about the Time Zone and the Bruiser. He said the Bruiser wasn't anything special, great ball, don't get me wrong, he said he's just seen that kind of reaction before. Probably out of one of the Quantums, no doubt. He said the Time Zone really impressed him though, said the asymmetric core lent some more drilling options.

Parker Bohn used a Time Zone MOnday night when he subbed in a league I'm in here in NJ. The house shot is medium light oil with clean backend. He was using a Time Zone (didn't want to harass him to see the drilling; he looked very relaxed and was enjoying himself.); he seemed to be more like stroking the ball with a little less than his usual high speed. The ball was arc-ing nicely. SInce I was using a much weaker ball, I was surprised he was able to use this much ball with such a nice arc. So it might have been the drilling. One guy on might starting pair brought a Raging Inferno, but there was not nearly enough oil for it.

First of all, its about what the customer/consumer wants. They want the name Zone on a ball, and they want a asymmetrical core like other companies in a Brunswick ball. Its amazing how many people still walk into the shop and ask for a Zone.(not knowing that there are many Zone's) As far as marketing goes, its a great move.
The Time Zone itself is a great ball. You would think with the Powerkoil 18 cover, that this ball would be a flippy. Not so, as a matter of fact, its the smoothest ball off of its reaction ive ever thrown. Both of mine, recover nicely, especially when the backends are fresh. During recent tourny's, the backends have been crisp, creating over under for people throwing polished or pearl balls, ive been using my Time Zone's in this situation because they dont overreact off the dry. I can play 7 to 10 boards right of everyone else, until they carry down, in which case im 7 to 10 boards left of everyone else with my Raging Inferno's. SOrry, I missed this.
I am subbing at Howell lanes this Summer; more like I'm tetsing a few balls in this 5 game singles scratch league. But I don;t normally bowl there as it is an hour and 10 minutes from my home. My driller has his pro shop there, however; so I visit quite regularly.
