Scorchin' vs. Strike Zone???-BrunsNick??
« on: February 07, 2006, 03:15:06 PM »
Which one would handle more oil? I wonder if it's worth the investment of buying a Scorchin' for the heavy?

Brunsnick, what do you think so far???

The Scorchin is going to handle more oil.  It is a more up to date cover than the Strike Zone as the SZ has the Ultimate cover on it.  The SI is designed for heavier conditions and should be like a Strike Zone on steroids.  I saw some guys like Mika and Sean Rash using the Scorchin at the tour stop last week in Atlanta and that ball is a beast.

Scorchin outhooks the Strike Zone hands down. I think the Activator Max is something special, coverstock looks really nice after some games. The true test will be after about 30 games to see how the reaction holds up!

What I'm trying to figure out is replace my SZ with a Scorchin' for heavy stuff, and tame the cover of the SZ down to use on our THS, to take the place of my Absolute. So here line up would be:

Scorchin'-heavy    (Strike Zone is here currently)
Strike Zone-THS-medium   (Absolute is here currently)
Smokin'-medium
Original Inferno
Blazing/Super Sport Pearl

so as far as oil handling, what's the most-least, Scorchin-Ultimate-Strike Zone?

my dad's got an ultimate right now, and he's looking for something to start a touch earlier, and keep going on the back. also, he'd like a little more hook overall. lmk what you think.
