defense zone

Can anyone tell me what the out of box surface prep was
for the defense zone?

If my memory serves me correctly it was 400 grit wet sand with High Gloss Polish on top of it

This ball cam from the factory wetsanded 600 grit and then received 2 minutes in the Lusterclean machine. This was typical for "polished" bowling balls during that era( late 1990's ).

Yup, "Double Buff" was the finish's name at that time. But from today's point of view and equipment, the 400 grit base plus a coat of High Gloss Polish would be the recommendation.
