Title: Diamondback Pearl
Post by: kidlost2000 on March 10, 2010, 02:01:31 PM
Just got mine in today and will drill it this weekend. Has a 2" pin with 2.4ozs top weight. Going with pin below the fingers on the center grip line with the cg just on the positive side. My PAP is 5.5" straight across. Above average revs player with 16-17mph ball speed depending on the line. 16.5-17mph playing up the right side and 16mps when I move in and start playing more boards.

Current Big B arsenal is a Avalanche Pearl on a leverage pattern weight hole on pap, Wild Thing on modified Rico, Revolution Real Speed Pro on mod Rico, Revolution Zest on Rico, Chance Zone on Rico, and a Cold Fury on a leverage pattern with weight hole in 3rd quad.

The Wild Thing and Real Speed are a great combo for me right now. The Real speed has more angle on the backends and when I lose carry with the wild thing I switch to it and it picks up the slack. Curious to see where the new ball will fit.

If the Diamondback is solid Activator does that mean that the Diamondback Pearl is pearl Activator?

If that's the case, is the Diamondback Pearl just a renamed Rattler for the international market?

Either way, you''re gonna'' love it. My Rattler is one of my favorites.

Could it have the Absolute Inferno coverstock instead of the Inferno cover, which is on the Rattler?

I believe it is activator +  and the rattler is activator.

MoRich S&A and Awesome Rlip also had this cover, lots of overseas balls and the current Pit Viper (with a Swarm core).

From Brunswick:

ACTIVATOR PLUS Coverstock

The Diamondback Pearl â„¢ is the first ball with Activator Plus coverstock available at the Advanced Performance price point. The Activator Plus coverstock used on the Diamondback Pearl is a proven formula that provides strong mid and down-lane recovery, longevity of ball reaction, and unprecedented durability with superior resistance to cracking.

ROCKET Core
The Diamondback Pearl uses the proven Brunswick multi-sided Rocketâ„¢ core system. The Rocket core is a low RG core that aids the Activator Plus in mid-lane grip and back-end recovery.

Ball Motion
The Diamondback Pearl, finished at 4,000 Siaair Micro Pad, will provide excellent length through the front part of the lane. The core and coverstock strength give the Diamondback Pearl the potential for a strong, continuous backend reaction with remarkable pin action, on typical medium to oily lane conditions.
Reaction Setup
The Diamondback Pearl can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for symmetric bowling balls.

Check the numbers its not a Rattler. You will notice they (overseas) have all the same balls we do. They actually get more released then us like the DB pearl, Pit Viper, and Wild Hurricane.

I got it from px20162 on ebay. He had a Wild Hurricane listed and I asked about a DB pearl and he said he had one available. Should be a good ball. As popular as the DB is I'm surprised this wasn't released here as well.

Tempting but I just scored the last NIB 16# Vapor Zone from Bowlersdream.com so unless the specs sucketh on the VZ I'll be all fixed up for my Activator+ needs.

I had a Prime Zone with Activator + and this ball never work well for me. It even had the AI Inferno core. I loved the AI thou. Would this ball with Activator + and Rocket core be a good combination? Still looking for something less than my Diamondback solid but stronger than my Twisted Fury. Anyone else selling them?

Thanks, CaptZap

Do not get one of these......get two

Wow. Tried it during practice and looked good. Very nice break on the backend. Towards the end of the first game I was having problems with my Wild Thing and decided to try the new DBP. This ball was easily 5-7 boards stronger then my Wild Thing. I was worried how aggressive this ball may be and I shouldn't have because it is a beast. Obviously clean through the heads and very strong on the backends. Very glad I got one of these. WOW

From looking at the picture, it almost looks like that Brunswick took some old Zone Classics and stamped the Diamondback logo on it.

Not that that would be a bad thing.....

Isn't the new Anaconda US Release also going to have the Activator+ coverstock?

The ball has been amazing. Very smooth through the heads and non stop hook on the backend. Very impressive bowling ball. Glad I got it over the Evil Siege.

Trust me, I know it's not. Just at first glance you have to admit that both balls do look similar logo notwithstanding.

In fact, I wish it was more like the Zone Classic instead of the Absolute Inferno like others are saying.
