Elite = Brunswick?
« on: March 30, 2007, 12:44:17 AM »
I didn't have any luck posting in the Elite forum - maybe not enough traffic - so I'll try here. I'm curious - what are the "Brunswick equivalent" balls to the Elite PBA products?
Thanks.

Here's the problem with your question: Although there are lots of people who know the Brunswick line, there may not be very many who know BOTH lines enough to compare (ball by ball) the two.

Elite may make good stuff, but if nobody buys them how will you find someone who can be an unbiased authority on both companies.  There hasn't been any demand for Elite at our pro shop...

i've realized alot of the Elite cores are actually the cores of the overseas brunswick balls. Pretty much just take a look at some of the overseas brunswick balls and you'll see which balls are the same.

Yeah, Elite stuff is basically recycled Brunswick stuff being sold at outrageous prices because they can get away with it because people are gullible . .

Look at the Brunswick International balls - like the Red Alert Series, or check out this ball : http://www.bowlingball.com/Bowling-Ball-5040/brunswick-ambitious---overseas-release---bowlingball-com-exclusive.html

That is the same core as the Scorpin and 1 other ball, sorry don't remember off the top of my head.

The problem with Elite is that they don't say what their coverstock is - its a Brunswick formula, but do they tweak it (a la Morich), or is it a straight Brunswick cover?  Without knowing which cover it uses, it doesn't give you much to compare to.  It could be PK18 or some other formula.

My experience with the International series is that they work fine on today's conditions.

Cheetah has this core: http://www.bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=1207

I don't know if any other Brunswick balls have used the core in the Shark, Viper, or Chameleon.
