Does anyone else find this a bit odd...cause I do!
« on: January 11, 2006, 01:10:41 AM »
A Teammate of mine currently has a Nemesis, Ultimate Inferno, and Rampage. The interesting aspect lies within. The Nemesis is his heavy oil ball, and the ultimate serves for more of a medium condition shot. As far as I'm aware, the coverstocks haven't been touched, and the Nemesis outhooks the Ultimate by a good 5 boards. His Ultimate gives him better control and much better hit, but couldn't be used on a true flood. I'm aware that the drillings on the balls could be a factor in the reaction, but I'm pretty sure that both balls have a similar drilling. The only difference is the Ultimate had a weight hole....could anyone else account for why this happens, because it intrigues me.

BrunsricH:  If PK is really earlier reacting than activator, then the factory finishes would appear to have a large impact.  My AI is much earlier than my Rampage, which would have to be attributable to the factory polish on the Ramppage compared to the rough buff over a coarse sanding on the AI.

Bob, it's probably not only the finishes, but also keep in mind the AI has a lower RG than the rampage.  I remember once I was told that the reason Brunswick always uses the low RG cores with activator is because it is clean by nature so the early rolling cores match up with it the best.  It's likely why the "high" RG infernos haven't done that great for many people, i.e. the Blazing and Intense.  Can't say anything about the Smokin, I have no idea how well that's selling compared to the others.
