drill to tame backemd reaction on Raven Auantum
« on: January 09, 2006, 05:54:32 AM »
I talked to my proshop this morning on getting a ball to have a tamer backend.  Most of my balls are drilled for oil conditions with pin above bridge to go long and then break.  I find the condition on which I am now bowling quite different from san Antonio....they call the layout the "senior shot", quite simply its just a lite oil condition and most of my stuff just hooks too strong. I have problem generating ball speed so shop sugested dilling one of my raven quanum with pin close to the PAP.  Don't want lose hitting power just cut down on the backend hook....any comments or advice is appreciated...Thanks, dr "C"

Nooooo.

Don't you dare let them kill the Raven by putting the pin near the PAP. The ball is naturally tame on the backend, I'd go pin down with a low x hole for earlier read and smoother backend.

some pro shops shouldn't be called as such.

maybe amateur shop would be correct.

my personal favorite for an easy read on the lanes has the pin 1½" right of my fingers and CG out.

sweet arc off the dry, and major hit!

PIN on PAP should be for crankers only!

dont ruin this classic (Ive got 2 stashed away)

Pin down = under the bridge, closer to the center of grip.
