Title: Drilling Sugestions
Post by: doubleraven on May 01, 2005, 01:56:27 PM
I picked up a Monster SmashR, 16 lb NIB, 4-5" pin, 2.7 oz topweight. I prefer a more predictable, earlier moving, arc type reaction. I don't feel that I have enough hand to get a good skid-snap.

Specs are in profile.

Thanks Nation!

With that long of a pin, I would put the pin above the bridge about 3 1/2" above the midline.  Then kick the CG about 2 inches, and put a weighthole on your axis point bringing the ball back to around a 1/2 ounce positive side.  This will give you length, with an arcing backend.  Adjust the surface as you see necessary.

Just got the ball in, the pin is almost exactly 4" out. Going to get it punched up tomorrow. If anyone else has suggestion, now is the time, so I can talk with my pro shop guy about layout options.

I'm usually bowling on a medium-medium dry, but don't have too much hand.
