First Impression - Time Zone
« on: September 21, 2003, 11:38:07 PM »
15.04#
1-2 inch pin 3oz top
OOB finish (High polish) may have to scuff it a little.

I had this drilled up Pin in ring finger and MB at 60 deg. I figured that 45 is a strong arc layout and 75 is a flip I would go in between so my adjustment would give me 2 looks.

MY v2 Strong was to much ball to throw a stroker line. if I went to deep it left flat tens from losing energy by crossing so many boards.

I whip out the Time zone.
Back to a nicer stroker line and WOW!

first a strong release with about 50 deg axis rotation and it would arc very hard in a nice tight line . changed the axis rotation to about 80 and it skid snapped big time.

Went with a weaker hand position and more tilt. I could play up the boards and just crush the rack if I kept my speed consistent and firm.

Let's talk about HIT. Pins were jumping around and flying all over the place. There was a pin crushing sound along with the explosion of pins.
I would like to put this ball up against a BlueBerry,Cranberry etc and see if there is any difference. Just maybe the secret is in the Brunswick Coverstocks.

Great ball for the Price.

Sounds like a good ball.  I have a couple of questions though:
  1. Does the TZ carry the same or similiar reaction to the old Danger Zones?
  2. Would it be good for a full-roller?

--------------------
On league night, a realm of untold destruction and horror is formed.  Innocent pins are unsuspectingly pulled into this terrifying realm.  Their lives are changed forever by the terror that is unleashed upon them for the next 36 frames.  They stand in fear as they await their fate when they enter...The Danger Zone.  (Only those damn 10-pins have lived to tell the gruesome tale.)

Never rolled the older Zones. the few I have seen are more arcing that this.

this core really snaps up. I dulled it to 1500 sanded and it still is to strong at the breal point. I'm going to dull it to 800 and give it another shot.

Yeah, reminds me a ton of like the Danger Zone, and Red Alert Special Edition.  If you liked any of the black Zones period, you'll LOVE this ball.

HAH!  I don't know ANYBODY now!

Being in adult leagues teaches you many things.

1.  You're not on top anymore, but there are a lot more people that suck worse than you do now.

2.  The myth about the youths having an easier shot is NOT TRUE.  I'd have an entire ring collection if it was.

3.  Drunk adults are a lot funnier than drunk youths.
